P11,990.00 is the suggested retail price (SRP). If retailers will go over that without adding extras, you're better off buying it from Samsung stores or officially licensed retailers in most SM malls.

Oh, i went to greenhills a week ago to check the price of Corby. I saw they all have the "corby pro" (that is what they saying but that was the 4310 one - corby slider without WiFi and only 2 MP) and later on i just knew that there is the real CORBY PRO or (improved version of corby 3410) which is not already released here in the phil. yet. Even in some stores at SM malls dont know about this unit. and so i havnt seen it in greenhills.

TP is also waiting for this phone. :P It's going to be TechPinas' 2010 Q1 phone.
They said they already have this phone before, but didn't order much.. one of the stores told me the reason was because "hindi pa kasi full out sir" hehehe.. The one on the bridgeway is City Telecom, I asked to see the unit but the salesperson told me she will only get it if I will surely buy it. Some customer service they have on that store, no wonder no one buys from them. But from all the stores I asked City Telecom is selling it for 8.5k

I bought mine for P13,500.
It's more pricey if you bought it in a Samsung store.
If it's just in stalls, it's P11,500. And only white keyboard is available in stores. The red keyboard is available in the Samsung store. I don't like the white keyboard because it will get dirty easily.

ReplyDeletesm sta also has stocks and they accept deferred payment up to 12 months but only if you use bdo card. for cash it's 11.5k if deferred for 12 mos, 13k :) bought one yesterday and la naman akong naging prob sa wifi. They tested it right then and there kasi may wifi sa sm. Sa GH kasi ayaw nila deferred payment.

ReplyDeletebeen using the Corby pro for almost a week now and I just wanna point out a couple of things. BTW please do correct me if my observations on this phone is incorrect.
ReplyDeleteFirst are widgets and other applications like the internet that when accidentally touch, will automatically connect to your phone GPRS. I'm not sure about the outher countries but here in the Philippines they charge for the GPRS service.
Is there a setting in which the phone will ask you if you want to connect via GPRS or WiFi connection?
Second is with the "Smart Unlock" feature were in you can assign a letter to unlock your phone by drawing the letter on the screen.
The problem is when you click the unlock button on the side of your phone, you can bypass the "smart unlock" feature by just pressing the lock sign on your screen.
Again, do correct me if I missed any setting to correct this.
So far these are the only 2 loopholes that I found with this phone.

You can change the setting so that it won't automatically connect to gprs but instead to wifi. Go to Internet -> settings -> Internet profiles -> scan which wifi connection you want to be connected with, then there. It won't automatically connect to gprs.
ReplyDeleteAbout the smart unlock, yeah you can also unlock the phone by pressing on the lock sign for about 3 seconds - 5 secs.
For those who are still looking for a b5310, it's now available @ rob place manila.
Btw, I have found the prob with the internet connection. If the signal is weak, you really would have a hard time connecting. I went to rob place manila yesterday to test the wifi capacity of b5310 and here's what I found out. If the wifi signal is just 1 bar, you wont be able to connect to the internet. It would say DNS or No AP response. try to go so the area near starbucks and marks and spencer, the signal is 2 bars or up there and you would be able to get into the net. I tried connecting to you tube there and it worked. :)
ReplyDeleteSo far, the draaw back of this phone is that the batt life is short when you are always using the applications but other than that, it's one heck of a phone :)

ReplyDeleteIf you change the internet setting and choose wifi, will that also prompt the phone to connect via WiFi if you click one of the widgets....lets say the "more widgets"? or will it still connect via GPRS?
got my corby pro last monday :) itso nice :) i swear :) bought it for 12k in moa :) they only have 2 stocks, they dont have 1 in samsung store lol corby pro is like an iphone,with gossip girl features LOL i so love it

ReplyDeleteI just got mine just yesterday at Hello! Megamall. It seems like lady luck was on my side yesterday since they only had one unit on hand. I like it very much except for the photo quality. Other than that, it's really worth the price

For those who are planning to buy, I suggest that you call shops first and then reserve.

ReplyDeleteWith the cam, so far it's ok as long as you have ample lighting coz it doesn't have a flash. Well, I think it was a given fact since we know the specs of this phone before hand.
are there any extra back cover if i purchase corby pro, just like the corby touch?
ReplyDeleteregarding the photo quality being not that good is such a downer.. I really like the look of it so cute! I like the features except for the camera darn! Now I'm having second thoughts about owning one.. since being vain much and taking pics of myself is my fave thing to do on a phone :-P
ReplyDeleteI like my Corby Pro, especially now that I discovered "GPS+"...this feature is NOT enabled by default, but users can enable it and then the GPS performance is noticeably stronger! Here's hot to do it:
ReplyDeleteGo to MENU > SETTINGS > PHONE SETTINGS, scroll down to GPS+ SETTINGS and see options:
(1) To get manual GPS+: click DOWNLOAD DATA. This will do it once, data is good for a few days (?).
(2) To get automatic GPS+: Click "ON" icon right below "AUTO DOWNLOAD". This downloads GPS+ in background, 2x per week.
Try it, you should notice a big improvement in GPS (Google Maps, for example)!
i've been having problems with my corby pro everytime i get video calls it auto shuts off. anyone experience this?

ReplyDeletewhy is it that some of u guys have bought alradey corby pro when samsung stores here in the phil haven't got it yet on stock? maybe china phone? figuring that you bought it in grnhills... maybe thats y it has problems with the video call? how do you tell if someone is selling you a legit samsung phone or a china one or some recall phone as they say. for me, I'd rather wait to purchase one in a samsung store just to be sure.

it's a legit corby pro. including me, iyang and megan. there's more people experiencing the video call problem saw it on the samsung forum boards.
maybe that's one of the defects of the early corby pros, maybe it one of the reason samsung stores hasn't stock of the units yet only few ones that are updated.. maybe they are waiting for the updated the software before they order and sell stocks?
