BlackBerry Bold 9790 Philippines Price, Specs, Photos
A few weeks back, over dinner, a friend - knowing I run TP - told me, "[I'm a big BB fan; A BB Bold fan to be specific. I have nothing against the Curve line but I can only go Bold. The thing is, the newest BB Bold (BlackBerry Bold 9900 at Php 31,000) is way too pricey for me. Do you think RIM will release a slightly more affordable Bold this year?]"
Back then, I answered, "Not sure. No word from RIM yet regarding that."

If I see her again this weekend, at least I'll have this great news to share with her:
Research in Motion has just announced a new BlackBerry Bold handset and it's totally more pocket-friendly than BB Bold 9900.
Although clearly not as handsome or as stunning as BlackBerry Bold 9900 and lacking a high-definition video recorder, BlackBerry Bold 9790 - built with premium materials and finishes - is still worthy of being in its high-end category. BB Bold 9790 combines a high-resolution and responsive touch display with a tactile keyboard and a precise optical trackpad. Likewise, it comes in a narrow design that should be easy to carry and comfortable to hold.
The phone comes replete with a 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, includes 8GB of onboard memory and a memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of added storage.
Running BlackBerry 7 OS with its 1 GHz processor, BlackBerry Bold 9790 promises to deliver fast, smooth performance for browsing the web, working with documents, enjoying multimedia files and running apps.
So how much will this Bold cost? The TP guesstimate for this handset's retail price is around Php 22,000 - 25,000. Not bad, eh? I think it reach our shores by Q1 2012.
Again, to wrap this up in true TP fashion, here are the complete technical specifications of BlackBerry Bold 9790:
