Samsung Galaxy Note Philippines Price, Release Date, Live Demo Video, In the Flesh Photos, Complete Specs!
Samsung Galaxy Note was officially launched in the Philippines yesterday via an event in CAV Wine Shop and Cafe in Bonifacio Highstreet. TP was there.
What's totally cool about the event - aside from the fact that I won a Samsung Galaxy Note via raffle (yebah!) and that Coco Domingo was kind enough to give all TP Friends a demo of the handset (scroll down for the video) - is that it clearly laid out what the phone is all about and whom exactly it is for.
"The Samsung Galaxy Note was designed based on how consumers generate ideas. People usually take cues from their environment, formulate ideas, and capture them through pictures, designs, and so on. And, now, with the Galaxy Note’s S Pen input technology, 8-megapixel camera, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, and HSPA+ Internet speeds, these ‘Eureka!’ moments will always be easily captured and even shared from anywhere and at anytime," shared Mr. Coco Domingo, Samsung Product Marketing Group Head for Handheld Phones.
Executive Creative Directors Merlee Cruz-Jayme of DM9 Syfu, Brandie Tan of BBDO, Leigh Reyes of Lowe, and Raoul Panes of Leo Burnett all attest to Samsung Galaxy Notes’ convenient way of replacing the traditional pen-and-paper method of putting ideas together. And in the world of advertising, these “eureka moments” happen when least expected in unlikely places.
“Eureka moment is when what's been in the back of your mind suddenly moves to the front,” states Leigh.
“Big ideas usually hit me in the middle of the night that’s why I always have a pen and post-it pad on my bedside table,” Merlee says.
“They say ideas come in the three B’s – bedroom, bathroom and bus. I've had ideas come in all three places,” Brandie shares.
As they go about town thinking of the next award-winning advertising campaign, they all agree that Samsung Galaxy Note is the perfect companion with its amazing features in size that is never a burden to carry around.
“It’s a do-it-all gadget,” observes Raoul. “It’s most handy for people who are perpetually looking for and enhancing ideas. It gets you connected. You get to research. You get to craft. And you don’t have to strain your eyes to do those.”
It’s a fact that advertising think tanks carry a big load on their shoulders that’s why they welcome any form of convenience that they can get. Combining business with a little bit of entertainment during their down time would be ideal, and Samsung Galaxy Note lets them enjoy the best of both worlds.
“Apart from making work easier, Samsung Galaxy Note allows me to have instant access to my favorite applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Fousquare and, of course, my e-mails,” Brandie states.
“One of small yet useful pleasures I get from Samsung Galaxy Note is that I can Google right away and download mp3s,” Marlee qips. “And maybe, just maybe, it’ll make me stop writing ideas on paper napkins and at the back of parking lot receipts.”
But you don't have to be an advertising executive to enjoy the unique features that Samsung Galaxy Note has to offer. If you're an artist who loves doodling stuff, a writer who gets ideas for his next best-seller while on the road or a businessman who gets big ideas on trips outside the country, Samsung Galaxy Note is for you.
Samsung Galaxy Note is now available nationwide both via Smart Postpaid and through authorized Samsung retailers. The official suggested retail price is Php 35,990.
For those who are wondering, here's how the phone looks like in the flesh:
Just a size comparison between the palm of my hand and the face of Samsung Galaxy Note; The handset should fit my hand nicely, don't you think?
Can't wait to play with the unit that I won so I can show you more in the flesh photos and give you my full review. This phone's totally hot, I tell you.
As promised, here's Mr. Coco Domingo giving us a quick demo video of Samsung Galaxy Note:
Thanks again, Coco! The whole TP community appreciates the demo.
