Nokia Lumia 900 Price and Release Date, Announced at Lumianation : Php 27,990 Only and You Get a Free Nokia Purity Stereo Headset WH-920 by Monster!
TechPinas Exclusive!
Last night, we finally saw the light -- that new dawn for Nokia.
The jampacked, slammin' Nokia Lumianation Event held at the Amphitheater in Bonifacio High Street last Friday, May 18, officially marked the beginning of the new Windows Phone Era for Nokia in the Philippines.
There was a lot of dancing, drinking, and partying with DJ Nina and the Jump Smokers (because really, it's more fun in the Philippines) - but of course, the true stars of the show were Nokia's new WP smartphones, namely, Nokia Lumia 800, 710, 610, and the biggest and most powerful of the bunch, the much-anticipated Nokia Lumia 900!
This smartphone will make your everyday amazing with its powerful, smooth and easy-to-use Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system perfectly complemented by its gorgeous unibody design and powerful multimedia features including an 8 MegaPixel camera with dual LED flash.
Here's how the top-of-the-line handset looks in the flesh --
This demo unit flaunts a Black polycarbonate monoblock shell, wrapped in Cyan silicon case. In front, you'll find the 4.3-inch AMOLED Nokia Clear Black display beneath the capacitive Gorilla Glass touchscreen and the 1.3 MegaPixel front-facing camera, which is one of the key features that set it apart from the more affordable Lumia releases. You can learn more about this handset - including its internal specifications - via our Nokia Lumia 900 Philippines post.
At the back, you'll see the 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera, which also works as an HD 720p video recorder. As I've mentioned in earlier TP posts, what makes this camera special compared to 8 MegaPixel shooters on other smartphones is that it comes with Carl Zeiss optics.
Oh, and I also scored this short in-the-flesh demo video of Nokia Lumia 900 for you:
Hopefully TP gets a Nokia Lumia 900 unit soon so I can shoot a longer demo video.
TP Thoughts: Off hand, all features considered - operating system, user interface, design, multimedia features, accessories, among others, I believe Nokia Lumia 900 is the best smartphone the Finnish company has released thus far. If this smartphone heralds the beginning of a new Era for Nokia and gives a hint as to what fans and consumers will get in the coming years, there's reason to believe that the company's future will be very bright.
So how much will it cost and when will it be available? Well, according to Nokia, Nokia Lumia 900 will be officially available at all Nokia Stores and select retail outlets across the archipelago around a week or two following its launch; So I guess, that's going to be the either the last week of May or the first week of June. The official suggested retail price is only Php 27,990 and if you're one of the first to get it, you'll receive a free Nokia Purity Stereo Headset WH-920 by Monster! Isn't that great?
To wrap this up, let me share with you some photos from last night's landmark event;
Gotta love the drinks! Guess which one I got?!
Blue Hawaii!
