Walmart 's $99 Apple iPhone
A few Walmart employees have apparently disclosed to San Jose based Mercury News that the store plans to sell $99 iPhones come late December.
It will be a cheaper version with only 4gb of storage vs. the initial $199 for 8gb and $299 for 16gb last June. The $99 iPhone, though, is AT&T 'locked' and buyers would have to also sign up for $30/month for unlimited Web access and another $5 for 200 text messages or, alternatively, $20 for unlimited texting.
No confirmation from Apple nor Walmart has been released.
