Sony has just confirmed the release of PlayStation 3 Slim:

As its very name suggests, PS3 Slim will be thinner and lighter than its predecessors, by 33% on both accounts, to be exact -- but that just about it, save for the 2/3 cut in power consumption helping reduce fan noise. The sole 120GB version will sell for $299 (Php 24,000+/- CCBT) once it comes out this September.
