Pinoy Friendster Day - The Largest Offline Gathering of Friendster Users Globally
Thousands Attended All-Day Event to Hear Local Bands, Meet New Friends, and More
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – September 9, 2009 -- Friendster, Inc., a top 25 global web site based on traffic*, today announced the overwhelming success of its first annual ‘Pinoy Friendster Day’ organized as a free event to thank Friendster fans for their support over the past seven years. Friendster also thanks those who sponsored the event in addition to all the attendees. More than 7,000 Friendster members showed up for the festivities at the SM Mall of Asia on August 15th, making ‘Pinoy Friendster Day’ the largest offline global gathering of Friendster users in the company’s history. The event featured entertainment and activities for attendees including live performances by popular local bands, speed dating, style makeovers, and a fireworks display.
‘Pinoy Friendster Day’ was hosted by Johnny Chase, Lorraine Quiche and Zip Cody of Max FM 103.5 in the Philippines, and was held in partnership with KFC, Label 5, Clean & Clear, Doggies Choice, Dell, Smart Buddy and Smart Bro. Media partners included Manila Bulletin, Inquirer Libre, ETC, Jack TV, Chat TV, 103.5 Max FM, 99.5 RT, Jam 88.3, and Wave 89.1. All sponsors occupied booths at the event with giveaways for attendees. Some of the booths featured style makeovers, and attendees chose from the following looks: jock, kikay, emo, fashonista and hip-hop.

Popular artists who performed included hip-hop artist Young JV and local Filipino talents Imago, Pedicab, Paraluman, 6 Cycle Mind, Callalily, and Rico Blanco. Artist performances were accented by the fireworks display.
Additionally, the event featured a massive ‘Friendster Shoutout’ graffiti board, resembling the popular Shoutout feature on Friendster.com, for attendees to post messages. Attendees also produced music videos and were given personal DVD copies of their performances.
