Sony Vaio CW : Affordable and Feature-Packed ! Photo, Specs
It's quite rare for Sony to release a laptop that doesn't cost an arm and leg but is still quite powerful, so if you're a Vaio fan you might want to check out Sony Vaio CW :
It retails for $799.99 or around Php 37,600 (CCBT*) and considering what you get inside the hood, IMO, it's all good!
Measuring 13.44 x 1.09-1.52 x 9.18 inches and weighing 5.3lbs, CW Series is a bit on the hefty side but its bulk only serves to house great features:
2.80GHz Intel Centrino 2 CPU
supports up to 8GB of RAM and 500 GB disk space (no SSD option though)
optional Blu ray burner
NVIDIA GeForce GT230M 512MB or GT210M 256MB graphics
VGA and HDMI ports.
ExpressCard 34 slot,
three USB 2.0 ports,
FireWire,
2 memory card slots,
audio in/out and a webcam.
Sony Vaio CW comes in black, blue, white, pink and red.
*thumbs up*

UPDATE: In the Philippines, Sony Vaio CW with base specs costs Php 50,000 and Php 73,000 for the full powered model. Not cheap at all.
after taxes it will become 60,000
ReplyDeleteAt last!, affordable VAIO. Let's wait na lang kung anu magiging presyo sa Pilipinas :D
ReplyDeleteHi Jam!
ReplyDeleteYup. Hopefully it'd still be affordable after taxes.
Thanks for checking out TP!
I saw this on Engadget a few weeks (months) ago. Great specs for 800 bucks -- if I recall correctly, this should come with blu-ray.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, it will probably retail for about 50k here; I noticed that both Macbook and Vaio prices are about 20 to 30% more expensive here than they are in the US.
I'm not sure the taxes are even part of the equation -- if you notice, asus PC's retail here for more or less (depending on the exchange rate) what they'd retail for stateside -- especially if you're paying cash.
It has to do with the distributors protecting their dealers' margins, I think.
^
ReplyDeleteI also think that's the case.
Thanks for checking out TP!
when I saw this in HK, it's between 23,000 to 25,000. If I remember it right. I regret not buying it at broadway. =( mukhang mahal pala yan dito.
ReplyDelete**in pesos na un.
ReplyDeletenaks naman.. aabot pa yan ng mga 50k dito sa atin...
ReplyDeleteI'll be getting this model this coming May/June. :)
