LG Electronics Philippines Helps Flood-Affected Students Regain Momentum
LG does its share to help Filipino kids in school recover from the damage brought by Ondoy.
Eldrian Adol and Vira Rose Mendoza, both 5 years old and kindergarten pupils of Felix Elementary School in Cainta Rizal, now further regained their joy and enthusiasm as they received new school bags and supplies for their studies. Eldrian and Vira were two of the many school children whose belongings were washed away or damaged by the recent flood brought by Typhoon Ondoy.
Recognizing their needs, LG Electronics, led by its managing director Seung Chul Lee and supported by its employees and concerned local government officials, trooped to selected flood-affected schools to give their early Christmas gifts. As part of its “LG With You” corporate social responsibility program, LG shared a set of school supplies to a total of 2,100 pupils in Felix Elementary School in Cainta, Rizal; Dr. Sixto Antonio and Bambang elementary schools in Pasig City; and Nangka, Malanday, H. Bautista, and IVC elementary schools in Marikina City.
“We also felt the damages made by the flood. But this did not stop us to extend our hands and help our neighbors,” said Mr. Lee, “Amid tough times, we still carry on our mantra that LIFE is and will always be GOOD.”
