Just a Philippine price update for Apple iPhone 3GS released locally in July 2009 (read TP iPhone 3GS Full Features Guide HERE.)
Globe Telecom is the official carrier of iPhone 3GS in the Philippines. Check out iPhone 3GS Philippines Globe Pricing Details when 3GS 16GB and 32GB versions were first released in the country via the link.
As of July 28, 2010, Globe only carries iPhone 3GS 8GB version. The phone costs PhP 28,995.00 via Globe iPhone Prepaid Phone Kit and Php 3,150 via Globe Plan 2499.
Unoffical Distributors:
From having a price tag of roughly Php 38,850 for the 16GB version and Php 42,250 for the 32GB when it was released in Pinas, you can now get iPhone 3GS - factory unlocked, without contract - at some cellphone retail stores for around Php 35,700 and Php 41,200 for 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. That's as of January 2010.
IMO, iPhone 3GS' prices haven't gone down dramatically largely because of the steady high-demand for the phone - as no iPhone follow-up has been announced by Apple yet.
Nonetheless, photos of the supposed iPhone 4G - the latest iteration to Apple's smartphone line - have started to surface. Check out iPhone 4G leaked photos HERE.
“iPhone 3GS is the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet and we think people will love the incredible new features including autofocus camera, video recording and the freedom of voice control,” shares Philip Schiller, Apple Senior Vice President of WorldWide Product Marketing.
