"The phone offers a compelling set of features, such as the native social networking applications, with an intelligent User Interface, design and connectivity options to provide users with the performance they demand."
While Monte isn't exactly a smartphone - lacking a powerful processor - it does offer a slew of features you'd normally find in one. Here are the specs:
3" 262K color WQVGA capacitive touchscreen
TouchWiz UI
200 MB of internal memory, memory card slot supports up to 16 GB.
3G with 3.6 Mbps HSDPA
GPRS
EDGE support
fixed focus 3MP camera has 3 megapixel resolution
QVGA video recording at 15 fps.
Wi-Fi,
GPS
Bluetooth 2.1
microUSB 2.0.
298 minutes 3G talktime
454hrs 3G standby
Samsung Monte is a mid-range release, which is good because (again, as in Samsung Duos) this signals that we can now get capacitive touchscreen on less expensive phones. Capacitive touchscreen technology used to be native to high-end or flagship releases.
No word from Samsung on pricing or actual release date yet. Please stay tuned for more info on Monte.
