Cherry Mobile Magnum HD : Php 18,990 Only, Runs Android 2.2 Froyo, Has 4.1-Inch Multi-Touch Screen
I'm gonna say it again just so everyone remembers,
Another case in point: Cherry Mobile Magnum HD
The very name itself suggests that this phone is out for a smartphone killing spree. And just looking at its price tag and top-notch specs, I believe it will end up doing exactly that.
Flaunting a high-resolution screen larger than that of Samsung Galaxy S or Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and technical specifications largely similar to the former, Cherry Mobile Magnum HD only costs Php 18,990 or more than Php 10,000 less than the other phones mentioned.
Cherry Mobile Magnum HD is amazingly thin despite its sizable screen. The depth is roughly only that of a Mongol pencil!
For only Php 18,990, you get Cherry Mobile Magnum HD running Android OS 2.2 Froyo with its powerful 1GHz Qualcomm Scorpion MSM8225-1 processor. Other stellar specifications include a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen (with 480x800 pixels resolution) that supports multi-touch gestures, 512 MB of RAM and 2GB of ROM, microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB, 5 MegaPixels camera with Flash at the back and a VGA camera in front, and 720p 30 frames per second video capture capability. Of course, this Android phone supports practically all connectivity options you'll need in this day and age, including Wifi, 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and A-GPS.
TechPinas is looking forward to playing with this phone and giving your our extensive user review.
More about Cherry Mobile Magnum HD soon -- only on TechPinas, The Philippine Technology Blog.
Anyone who says that all Cherry Mobile [phones] are too low-end or too 'pang-masa' is either terribly old-fashioned, sadly delusional or is plain a bigot.

ReplyDeleteMagnum HD features the same Li-Po 1500 mAh battery found in Samsung Galaxy S. :)
ReplyDeleteI've yet to test though exactly how long the uptime is. I'll keep you posted. :)
looks like a refined samsung galaxy S. :D TP, give us a REVIEW! cant wait! i wanna ask if it is really HD?
ReplyDeleteHi Nero!
ReplyDeleteYup, I really intend to give a comprehensive review. :) But I have to get hold of a unit first. :)
Thanks for the comment. :)
how do you use it as a wi fi hot spot?which do you think is better?superion or magnum?
ReplyDeleteMay autofocus po ba yung camera? Pag meron, gusto ko na 'to! :)
ReplyDeleteDoes it support the Android Market? Is there a dev community for this device? If not, it loses its sense of even being Android.
ReplyDeleteis magnum a dual-active sim phone?

ReplyDeletetechpinas i've been waiting for your hands on review for 2mos now... any update? i am eying on this phone. i've seen a short clip in you tube under huawei ideos x6 u9000. it has the same look and features, magnum hd only differs in the material used for housing which is metal (looks more elegant and solid). is the metal finish the same as that of cherry eclipse? did cherry copy huawei ideos x6? or was it a legal acquisition that led to rebranding? it has adobe flash 10.1. does it mean i can watch videos other than the ones in youtube that is already an integrated app in the phone? there have been some negative comments about cherry. bad after sales servicing and not so knowledgeable customer service reps. has cherry done something to improve on these areas? this phone looks promising yet priced fairly compared to other smartphones in the market today. I'd say it's still expensive though for a price @ almost 19k when you have samsung waveS8500 that offers the same price and uses super amoled screen but not too powerful OS though. I've been looking for this in the market but can't find one. some cherry mobile phone sales personnel don't even know it. hoping for a response. thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Zaffy!
ReplyDeleteWe really wanted to review this phone but Cherry Mobile never bothered to send us a review unit. They initially promised that they will send us one but it never happened. I don't know why.
As such, I can't really say anything about it aside from my initial impressions. I wouldn't want to give a critique on a product without actually playing with it for at least three days -- that's not right. :)
I suggest you check it out yourself at any CM booth. :)
Good luck!
