Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet Phone : Php 19,990 Only, Runs Android 2.2 Froyo
Anyone who says that all Cherry Mobile products are too low-end or too 'pang-masa' is either terribly old-fashioned, sadly delusional or is plain a bigot...
Because if the outstanding quality and stunning looks of new Cherry Mobile devices unveiled in tonight's CM event at the A-Venue were any indication of where the company intends to take this brand, then bigger multinational companies competing with it better start really, really shaping up.
Take for example, the incredibly gorgeous Cherry Mobile Superion Tablet clad in aluminum --
Donning a price tag of only Php 19,990, Cherry Mobile Superion could very well give the Php30k+ Samsung Galaxy Tab a run for its money.
For less than Php 20,000, you can own an extremely well-constructed tablet that runs Android 2.2 Froyo with its powerful Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 Mhz processor and 512 MB of ROM. It has a 7" WVGA glass capacitive touchscreen that supports multi-touch gestures, a microSD card slot for expanding the memory and two cameras; one in front and another 3 MegaPixel shooter at the back. The device supports practically all connectivity options you'll need in this day and age, including Wifi, 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Bluetooth, MicroUSB and A-GPS. But the coolest part? This tablet also works as a phone!
I took a video of Superion in action earlier. I'll just upload it on Youtube and update this post with the clip.
I hope to have an immersive experience with this tablet so I can give it the comprehensive review that it definitely deserves.
Please stay tuned for updates -- only here on TechPinas, The Philippine Technology Blog.

ReplyDeletewill wait for a review of this.. looks promising but the 600mhz proc is BLAH.
ReplyDeleteI played with it a bit during the event and the performance is quite impressive. :) I tend to really believe now that Qualcomm makes good chips. :)
ReplyDeletehello techpinas! i quoted your article in my blog, i hope you won't mind.... here's the link: http://odeeblah.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/superion-or-ipad-cherry-mobile-dares-to-rival-apple/
ReplyDeleteNo prob! :) Thanks for the quote! :)
ReplyDeleteThis unit, based on its design, looks and specs, is the same as viewsonic's viewpad 7 which was last launched this month in Taipei. The viewpad costs 15000 Taiwan dollars or around 21k Php. Been eyeing the viewpad and buy it here in Taipei but I think I'd rather get the superion when I get back to the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteAlso the body mould is plastic that looks like .
ReplyDeleteAlso the body mould is plastic that looks like aluminum.
ReplyDeletehow do you use it as a wifi hot spot?which do u think is better the magnum or this
ReplyDeletemahal ito para sa 19,990 Php, mag motorola xoom na lang kayo for 20T small diff. in price but big in features
ReplyDelete20T for motorola xoom? Saan pwede bumili?
ReplyDeletefor same price, makakabili ka na ng ARCHOS 101.
ReplyDeleteARCHOS101 vs Cherry Superion
ARM Cortex A8 at 1 GHz with DSP and Graphic accelerator: 3D OpenGL ES 2.0 vs Qualcomm MSM7227 600Mhz
10.1'' TFT LCD WXVGA Multitouch Capacitive Touchscreen vs 7"WVGA Capacitive Touchscreen
Internal: 8 & 16 GB flash memory + external expansion (MicroSD) vs ROM: 512 / RAM: 512MB
ARCHOS101 clear winner sa performance.
ARCHOS101 advantages - G-sensor / Mini HDMI output
Cherry Superion advantages - 3mp auto-focus back camera (pero sino ba ang magpipicture gamit ang 7" na device?)
Unfortunately, ARCHOS 101 doesn't have 3G...
