Samsung Wave 525 : Price, Specs, Photos
Bada-run Samsung Wave 525, the cheaper, (perhaps) less svelte and (clearly) less powerful younger sibling of Samsung Wave S8500, is now out in the Philippines.
Donning a suggested retail price of only PhP 8,990 vs. the rather hefty PhP 19,990 price tag of the first Wave, Samsung Wave 525 merely comes with TFT LCD display instead of SuperAMOLED, 3.2 MegaPixel camera vs. s8500's 5 MegaPixel shooter and QVGA video capture resolution instead of 720p. Other specifications include --
3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display
Music player that supports MP3 / AAC / AAC+ / e-AAC+ / WMA / AMR formats
Embedded Java Games and Applications
FM Radio
100 MB of internal memory
microSD card slot that supports up to 16GB
Advanced TouchWiz UI (with customizable homescreen)
Want to always stay connected? Samsung Wave 525 supports a number of connectivity options, which include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots) ~ 32 - 48 kbps, EDGE Class 10 ~ 236.8 kbps, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP. It's quite disappointing though that 3G is not supported.
Wave 525 Bada phone comes with Samsung's Social Hub, a feature that seamlessly integrates social networking messages (from Facebook, Twitter and others), IM, e-mail and calendar accounts, all in one page so users no longer need to spend too much time checking separate sites. All Social Hub content are clearly organized into four categories : History, Info, History, Media and Activities.
As for Bada games and apps, there are some. Not as many as Android's, iOS' -- perhaps even Symbian's -- but there are some, nonetheless. You may download them via Samsung Application Store.
