MyPhone T23 Duo : Price, Specs, Photos, Samsung Corby Look Alike?
Considering that it's almost always sold out in some MyPhone booths and in most online stores in the Philippines, I'm inclined to believe that MyPhone T23 Duo is a silent best-seller.

Looking almost identical to Samsung Corby, MyPhone T23 Duo also comes with largely similar specifications. Like Corby, MyPhone T23 flaunts a 2.8" resistive touchscreen and a 2 MegaPixel camera, plays mp3 files, comes with a microSD card slot that supports up to 8GB, and lets you quickly access your favorite social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. As for connectivity options, both handsets support Bluetooth, EDGE and GPRS.
The biggest difference between Samsung Corby and MyPhone T23 Duo, in my opinion, (aside from the operating system and the user interface, and the fact that MyPhone T23 Duo is actually a dual SIM handset), is their price tag. Samsung Corby came with a price tag of around Php 8,500 when it was first released in the Philippines while MyPhone T32 Duo only costs Php 3,399.

ReplyDeleteI own a T23, and have had it for about 3months now. It was a choice between Corby and this, and suffice to say, I made a great choice.
ReplyDeleteAs a touchscreen, the main screen can be customized to show icons of your choice. And, it has a snowman, of all things! Its wallpaper can also be changed with a swipe on the screen, but you can't turn off that function. Not much of an issue, if you don't get annoyed easily.
Sound is absolutely great! The Yamaha speakers it comes with makes sound crystal clear, and quite loud. None of the distorted kind you'd hear.
Phonebook comes a bit on the simple side. You can put an image, customized the ringtone, and add phone numbers, but no home addresses. Email addresses, yes, and the birthday, but not the home address.
Messages, I haven't seen how long my msgs can go, but I can store up to 200 texts in the inbox (with the outbox turned off). Haven't received any MMS yet, so I'm not sure how that goes.
You can go to Symbianize.com to download Java games and apps. Downside is that you access those games in the Java menu, not in the main menu. I have Monopoly, Midnight Pool and Poker on my games list. Sometimes it hangs up, but it happens. Not a biggie.
Bluetooth is standard, and since I don't want my screen slimed up on my sweat when I'm walking, I got a bluetooth earset from CDR-King, and it transmits the sounds nicely, though it doesn't transmit the FM signals to the earset. You'd need handsfree kit that comes with the phone, or you can just plug in your 3.5mm headphones to the jack located on top of the phone.
Internet...now this was tricky. Since I only have one phone SIM, what I did was get my broadband Sun sim from the 3G modem and plugged it in to the 2nd SIM slot. The phone comes with all the telcos prepaid broadband SIM settings already. I went into the dumb mode of my brain and forgot that I was using a postpaid broadband SIM. After changing the correct setting on the APN, voila!! Mobile Unlimited Internet! I upgraded to Opera Mini 4.2, set up my RSS Feeds, bookmarked my Facebook and updated my Yahoo Messenger on the main menu. Bad news...one app at a time only. That's ok, at least I've got Twitter following MMDA for those needed traffic updates.
Plus side: its a great phone to have for mobile communications, both GSM and EDGE
Minus side: wish I could have the OS upgraded and give it more spice. But, then again, the OS is really simple enough to understand that anyone can use it out of the box immediately.
BTW, you might want to read the manual with the phone goes into auto lock if you don't know how to unlock it. It took me 3 days to figure that one out.

i own one and the day after i bought it, my bf's mom bought one too... after about a week, my bf one one as well.. we all are enjoying the features of the phone.. no problems yet, so far... i love it a lot because it did not cost as much as high-end brand phones did.. but the functionality of the phone is just about the same...

ReplyDeleteI bought mine last week, so far no problems yet. I think it was good choice (between cherry and this one) ...it's pretty well for a cheap touchscreen phone
ReplyDeleteI can say we have the same problem as of now hindi ko pa siya dinadala sa Service Center baka kase matagalan yung pag gawa nila. . . you think sa ibang cellphone shop kaya nilang gawin yung headset? para hindi na ako dumayo pa sa service center ng MY phone thanks
