Samsung Wave 2 : Price, Specs - Out in the Philippines!
We let you in on Samsung Wave II S8530 details as early as October last year.
This post is just to inform you that we've spotted the phone in some stores in the Philippines -- both online and in malls. We're not sure if it even saw 'official' launch in the Philippines but it's here and you can now get it.
Samsung Wave 2, obviously, is the follow-up to the quite popular Samsung Wave. Like its predecessor, Wave 2 runs Samsung's relatively new Bada operating system with its 1 Ghz chip and comes with a 5 MegaPixel camera that also records 720p HD videos. Even their design identities are very similar, both donning a brushed metal case and plastic caps on either ends.
The biggest difference between the original Wave and Wave 2, I believe, can be seen on their screens. The first Samsung Wave features a SuperAMOLED capacitive touchscreen while Samsung Wave 2 only has this so-called Super CLEAR LCD. Perhaps to compensate for the second Wave's slightly lower display quality, Samsung gave the phone a bigger screen -- measuring 3.7" across vs. the first Wave's 3.3" screen.
Samsung Wave 2 comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack, TV-out and MicroSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB HSDPA. As for connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3G HSDPA 3.6.
Price? We've seen an online store sell Samsung Wave 2 for Php 18,690. Not bad.
