Apple iPad 2 : March 2 Official Announcement
So it appears our initial report on the iPad 2 announcement is off only by a few days.
Apple has just started sending out invites to media outlets in the US for a March 2 unveiling of the follow-up to the iPad --
The invitation shows a calendar icon peeling away to reveal an iPad in the background.

UPDATE: Contrary to earlier reports, new insider info hint that the next iteration to the iPad won't flaunt a Retina Display. Instead, it will just have improved anti-reflection features on a screen with pixel density similar to that of its predecessor.
