I know the comparison is hardly fair. The first generation Apple iPad is from early 2010 while Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was just released today. But I'm sure a lot of people would still want to see this so I posted it anyway. (I know. iPad 2 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 should be a more interesting comparison. But we'll have to wait until March or April for that.)

Needless to say, (at least on paper) technical specs-wise, iPad has got nothing on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The latter is just thinner and lighter, has a bigger screen, runs on a more powerful chip and sports not one but two cameras -- one's even powerful enough to take 1080p HD videos. The only department where iPad could be considered better than Galaxy Tab 10.1 is probably on the software side -- but that calls for a whole separate table or video altogether.

I guess this just goes to show how fast technology progresses year after year. What was top-of-the-line a few months ago would now seem wanting in comparison to fresh releases.

  3. The galaxy tab 10.1 doesn't have a usb port and an expandable sd card storage? That's a shame. . .

  4. Is it Android 3.0 Gingerbread or is it Android 3.0 Honeycomb? Which is correct?
