Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 : Price, Specs, Features, Photos
THIS, I think, is half of the reason for the sudden drop in the price of the first generation Samsung Galaxy Tab worldwide --
Coming Soon: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the smaller of the two new generation Samsung iPad killers rumored to be launched this coming second quarter. As its very name suggests, the slate sports an 8.9-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and comes with features that Samsung fans have grown to love in the Korean company's Galaxy releases.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system with its 1 GHz Dual Core chip and sports two cameras, a 2 MegaPixel shooter in front and a 3.15 MP one at the back that also records 720p videos. As for connectivity, out of the box, the tablet supports Wifi and Bluetooth while 3G is optional.
So how does it compare to the first Tab? Well, Tab 8.9 has a bigger screen, faster processor, an OS that's made specifically for tablets and a higher resolution front camera. The first Tab, though, is lighter and has a smaller footprint.
We've yet to hear word from Samsung Philippines on Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9's availability in the country. But don't worry, I don't think it will take long before they make a formal announcement on the slate. Stay tuned for updates.
In the meantime, check out the technical specifications and international pricing details of Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 --

May I ask, considering the case of previous samsung launches, do they do it on a worldwide scale? Or is it country-limited like that of apple when they released the ipad2?
