Apple iPad 2 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 : Technical Specifications Fight!
Earlier this week, Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation finally announced the imminent release of its flagship Android tablet for 2011, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, in the country.
So I guess it's high time we do this:
To say that Samsung prepared well for iPad2 is an understatement. If the technical specifications of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 were any indication of the Korean company's motives, I guess we can conclude that Samsung wants to no less than slay Apple's tablet; Not only is Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 thinner and lighter than iPad2 but it also flaunts a bigger, perhaps a tad clearer screen, and better camera both front and back.
But will all these be enough to bring Apple down? In 2010, Apple iPad accounted for a whopping 93% of tablet sales worldwide. As for iPad2, well - Apple sold more than 1,000,000 units of the next-generation slate during its debut alone, contributing to a total 2.5 Million units sold way back in March (that's prior to its release in other parts of the world, including the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong). It's clear, I think, iPad2 is the hottest tablet in the world today. And you know when something's hot, everyone wants to get hold of it.
So guess the only question now is pricing. Samsung has yet to disclose the official SRP of Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the Philippines. Now I ask you, "If it will don a price tag similar to that of its main competition, will choose Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 over the monster hit that is Apple iPad 2?"
So I guess it's high time we do this:
