Nokia N9 Philippines - Price, Specs, Demo Video by Marko Ahtisaari
This post aims to collate all relevant information about Nokia N9 in the Philippines.
Mark Milan of TP witnessed first-hand the official announcement of Nokia N9 at Nokia Connection 2011 held in Marina Bay Sands Singapore last June 21. You may check out his Nokia N9 Hands-on Video and First Impressions post via the link.
NOTE: As yet, Nokia N9 hasn't seen official launch in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world, for that matter. Trust that we'll update this post as soon as we get word from Nokia Philippines on the handset's availability and official suggested retail price in the country. Off hand though, expect the phone to be priced like a true flagship release.
Nokia N9 will be available in three colors – Magenta, Black and Cyan with 16GB or 64GB storage options. According to Nokia, the MeeGo-powered smartphone is scheduled to be in stores later this year.
Nokia N9 Overview
Nokia N9 introduces an innovative new design where the usual home key is replaced by a simple gesture: a swipe.
Whenever you're in an application, swiping from the edge of the display takes you to the home screen. The three home views are designed to give quick access to the most important things people do with their phones: using apps, switching between activities and staying connected via calls, messages, social networks and notifications.
The industrial design of Nokia N9 is an example of craft and extreme product making. The body is precision-machined from a singular block of polycarbonate and flows seamlessly into a beautiful curved glass screen. The laminated deep black display makes the user interface appear to be just floating on the surface of the product.
Nokia N9 also packs the latest in navigation, audio technology and camera for a great all-round smartphone experience.
All-screen design
With no need for a home key, Nokia N9 makes more room on the display for apps to shine. The 3.9-inch AMOLED screen is made from scratch–resistant curved Gorilla-glass. The polycarbonate body, on the other hand, enables superior antenna performance, which means better reception and fewer dropped calls.
Camera, Maps and Multimedia
Nokia N9 features an 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss autofocus sensor, wide-angle lens, HD-quality video capture and large lens aperture that should enable great camera performance even in low-lighting conditions.
Users also get free turn-by-turn drive and walk navigation with voice guide in Maps. With the new dedicated Drive app, you can get in a car and start driving to your destination right away.
Nokia N9 is also the world's first smartphone to come with Dolby Digital Plus decoding and Dolby Headphone post-processing technology, giving users surround sound experience with any set of headphones.
NFC Technology
Coming replete with the latest in wireless technology, Near Field Communication (NFC), Nokia N9 lets you share images and videos between devices simply by touching them together. Pair it with Bluetooth accessories like the new NFC-enabled Nokia Play 360° wireless music speaker and you get surround sound music experience with just a tap.
