Samsung Smart TV Philippines Price, Specs, Photos : Samsung D8000 64-inch Plasma 3D HDTV Quick Review
Last week, I had the pleasure of spending a night with the 64-inch Series 8 Plasma+ D8000 Samsung Smart TV.
This particular TV sits at the top of Samsung's HDTV product tree so - needless to say - it comes with the best features that the Korean brand can offer. Skype-ready Samsung D8000 is equipped with an ultra-clear super-brilliant 64-inch panel, 3D HyperReal Engine, built-in WiFi support for web browsing and social networking, Samsung Allshare for connecting wirelessly with other Samsung devices, built-in HD tuner with one tuner picture-in-picture, Samsung's Smart Hub Search-All feature allowing users to search for their favorite content across the web and even other connected devices and Samsung One foot connection technology for easy tethering.
Samsung D8000 and I spent a night at The Picasso just adjacent Salcedo Park in Makati. "The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences offers chic, comfortable lodgings that are inspired in design by the master artist Pablo Picasso. Each uniquely designed room reflects the famous artist's style and palette, and furnished with modern amenities for a pleasant stay." And they serve great food too.
Anyway, as some of you already know, this is not my first experience with Samsung D8000. I've already played with this TV along with its direct counterparts from Sony and LG when Pop Talk of GMA News TV got me as one of their guest reviewers for their Smart TV Episode:
That was more than a month ago. I know a lot of my TP Friends were able to catch the episode. I had fun at the shoot. Please always watch Pop Talk, TP Friends!
Back then, I gave D8000 top ratings for its design, features and value for money (Well, actually, I - with my fellow reviewers, Issa and Coco - also gave top ratings to the Sony and LG TVs -- making it a triple tie). So for this quick review, I'm just gonna echo what I said about the TV then:
Slim Samsung D8000 comes with a classy and classic minimalistic design identity highlighted by simple crystal-and-metal trimming and a rather, uhm, practical and quite sturdy metal stand.
The display is ultra-clear, vivid and brilliant and I can safely say - in all honesty - that its truly in the top of its class. As for the features, well, it's a Smart TV thru and thru: it lets you browse the web, log-in to Facebook and Twitter, watch Youtube videos, play FullHD and 3D content and even lets you play games! You, your family and friends will surely not find it hard to fall in love with D8000.
Now, if you're going to ask me if it's the best in terms of Smart TV features, I'd say that it's right up there with LG Smart TV -- I've played with both TVs and I'm just telling it like it is (and really, Samsung should also take a look at what LG is doing. Just a tip.) That's what we do here in TP, we tell it like it is to companies so consumers can get even better products in the future.
So what's the price? Well, it's just Php 10 short of Php 300,000! Yes TP Friends, it's very expensive. I guess it's really for people who always want to get the best that their money can buy.
But is it sulit? Like what I said in Pop Talk, despite its hefty price tag, Samsung D8000 still offers great value for money when you consider its universally-appealing design, captivating display and the whole range of Smart features you get from it. That said, if you have the money to buy just like that, by all means, go ahead and check it out.
Next, I'll try to review the Samsung Blu-Ray player that I used to watch "How To Train Your Dragon" in 3D on Samsung D8000.
While I'm working on that, you might want to be more familiar with Samsung D8000 3D HDTV's full technical specifications and features:
