BlackBerry BBX : The Future BlackBerry Operating System!
"At DevCon today, we're giving developers the tools they need to build richer applications and we’re providing direction on how to best develop their smartphone and tablet apps as the BlackBerry and QNX platforms converge into our next generation BBX platform," shared Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at RIM, during BlackBerry DevCon Americas 2011 held in San Francisco, California last October 18, 2011.
BlackBerry BBX, which follows BlackBerry 7, will be the next generation platform for Research in Motion's smartphones and tablets. It combines the best of BlackBerry and the best of QNX, BlackBerry PlayBook's current operating system, and is designed to enable powerful real-time mobile experiences that distinguish BlackBerry services and products from all others.
Future BlackBerry smartphones will have an operating system and user interface similar to BlackBerry PlayBook's QNX OS! So if you want to be familiar with the platform as early as this year, why not get yourself a BlackBerry PlayBook this Yuletide?!
BBX will also include the new BlackBerry Cascades UI Framework for advanced graphics, BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps - which will allow BB users to play some Android applications on their device, BB Social Platform, deep integration between apps, always-on Push services and a lot more!
I guess 2012 should be exciting for BB fans as well.
