Typhoon Sendong Relief Efforts - Where To Volunteer and Donate Cash and Goods

Less than a week before Christmas, tropical storm Sendong made landfall in the southern part of the Philippines, leaving unprecedented devastation in its trail with death toll at 927 as of writing.

TP Friends, there's clearly no better time than now to remind ourselves that the true meaning of Christmas is giving. I hope that all of us can find it in our hearts to share whatever we can - time, energy, cash, goods, relief equipment - to our kababayans who are most in need in these trying times.

Here's a list of all relief centers and foundations where you can volunteer or send your donations:

1. Ateneo de Manila University: Donations of clothes, blankets, ready to eat food, toiletries, and bottled water for Typhoon Sendong victims will be accepted by the Ateneo School of Government and Kaya Natin! at the Fr. Ortiz Hall, Social Development Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City 'till WEDNESDAY, 10AM to 10PM

2. Sagip Kapamilya will be accepting donations such as rice, canned gods, noodles, biscuits, coffee, sugar, clothes, blankets, mats and medicines.

3. Kapuso Foundation is still accepting donations for the victims but cash donations are preferred because the repacking of relief goods is being done in the affected areas.

4. Red Cross: Please send cash or check donations to the PRC National Headquarters in Manila. Checks should be made payable to The Philippine Red Cross. We can also arrange for donation pick-up.

1. Send a letter of intent to donate to the PRC.
2. A letter of acceptance from PRC shall be sent back to the donor.
3. Immediately after shipping the goods, please send the (a) original Deed of Donation, (b) copy of packing list and (c) original Airway Bill for air shipments or Bill of Lading for sea shipments to Philippine Red Cross - National Headquarters c/o Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila 1018, Philippines.

The PRC does not accept rotten, damaged, expired or decayed goods. Though we appreciate your generosity, PRC also discourages donations of old clothes as we have more than enough to go around.
