Sony Xperia S Price Philippines, Specs, Release Date, Features
Perhaps the biggest challenge that Sony Ericsson faced during the past two years had to do with its seeming inability to release top-of-the-line handsets that had specifications - or at least, a processor - that can go head to head with that of the competition. (Or maybe, simply the inability to release handsets on time.)
For example, last year, when rival companies released flagship Dual Core Android phones like Samsung Galaxy S2, LG Optimus 2X and HTC Sensation that eventually ruled the market, SE's flagship phone - the Arc (, which - all other things considered - is a great handset) - had a single core chip.
But it appears all that is about to change.
If the first product of Sony's take over of the former joint venture with Ericsson were any indication of where the revitalized handset line is headed, 2012 should prove to be a good year for the brand.
TP Friends, meet Sony Xperia S --
Arriving within Q1 2012, Xperia S has specs that will make you believe that Sony can actually give other brands a serious run for the money; 1.5 GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB of RAM, 12 MegaPixel camera with Exmor R sensor for better shots in low-light conditions, Full HD video recorder at the back and HD 720p videocam in front -- In short, everything that a Q1 2012 flagship Android release should have, save for Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which Sony promises to send via firmware upgrade within the 2nd half of this year.
So when will Sony Xperia S arrive in the Philippines? Right now, we can only speculate. I'm guessing it will land here sometime in Q2 with SRP of around Php 30,000 - Php 35,000.
Can't wait to play with a unit!
