Lenovo Mobile Philippines TVC Hits Primetime! Signals Strong Entry into the Country's Smartphone Scene!
TechPinas Exclusive!
I was watching a popular primetime news program the other night when this television commercial suddenly came on, filling that gap between news about a bus that almost plunged off a bridge - no thanks to that shameless bus driver who kept texting while driving - and that aging female celebrity-turned-businesswoman who was supposedly attacked by her tenant using an umbrella:
The first time I saw it, I honestly thought it was either from Smart Communications or Globe Telecom because, frankly, the theme and tone were reminiscent of both 'Live More' and 'Power of One'. And really, the branding only appeared within the last 5-seconds of the clip.
But yeah, it's from Lenovo Mobile Philippines!
Despite the seemingly all-too-crowded smartphone scene in the Philippines, Lenovo Mobile has daringly decided to set-up an office here and to offer even more options to Pinoy consumers. And mind you, they're obviously not doing it quietly or under the radar -- with that TVC, I'm sure they want everyone to notice their arrival.
"We believe Lenovo Mobile is perfectly situated to take advantage of the explosive growth in the smartphone business because we offer best-in-value devices to our target consumers," shared Mr. John Rojo, Business Unit Head of Open Communications, the exclusive distributor of Lenovo Mobile in the country.
He added, "Our focus is on the greater majority of consumers who also desire and deserve a smartphone device that is both affordable and reliable in order to assist them in running the daily business of their lives."
But is there room for Lenovo handsets in the Philippines, still? Well, the answer is yes. According to a recent market study, Philippine smartphone market is growing at a staggering rate of 402% per year, that's ahead of many markets in Southeast Asia! So yeah, it looks like Lenovo Mobile's entry indeed comes at an opportune time.
And with phones like this...
The Dual SIM, Dual Standby Lenovo A65, which runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with an 800 MHz processor, comes with 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, and sells for only Php 5,499.
... I'm sure Lenovo Mobile will surely make the local smartphone industry a lot more interesting.
