Nokia Lumia 820 Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Complete Specifications : Affordable Windows Phone 8 Smartphone!
Officially unveiled alongside the PureView powerhouse Nokia Lumia 920 flagship at a New York press event last night, the super cute and sleek Nokia Lumia 820 offers an opportunity for budget-conscious consumers to switch to a full-featured Windows Phone without breaking the bank.
Flaunting an all-new design identity from Nokia that allows users to swap the entire back case, Nokia Lumia 820 with its stunning 4.3-inch Nokia ClearBlack Display and vibrant hues - I believe - is ideal for young and young-at-heart users who want the color of their smartphone to reflect their mood or to match their outfit every single day.
Back cases are available in Cyan, Purple, White, Red, Yellow, Grey, and Black.
Although lacking the PureView imaging capabilities of its bigger and more expensive sibling, Nokia Lumia 820 nonetheless has practically the same innards - including the 1.5GHz Dual Core Snapdragon S4 processor and 1 GB of RAM - running Windows Phone 8, comes with a similar - albeit smaller - battery that can be charged wirelessly, likewise supports ultra-fast LTE mobile connection, and actually has a pretty powerful 8 MegaPixel with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash plus a full HD 1080p video recorder at the back. So yes, all things considered, it's still quite a heavy-weight.
One of the first smartphones to run the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system called Windows Phone 8, Nokia Lumia 820 comes with resizable and interactive live tiles, a faster Internet Explorer 10 browser, and built-in Microsoft Office suite on top of stellar multimedia features and location services from the Finnish giant, which include Nokia Music, Nokia City Lens for discovering what's hot and happening in your location using the camera viewfinder, Nokia Smart Shoot for taking multiple shots with one click to get the best image, and of course, the familiar and TP-Favorite Nokia Drive providing turn-by-turn voice guided navigation.
Nokia didn't really give an exact release date nor price tag for this smartphone during the event. But I'm expecting Nokia Lumia 820 to hit store shelves around the world sometime in October with suggested retail price of around Php 23,000 to Php 25,000; Though I'd love for Nokia to pleasantly surprise all of its fans by pricing the handset even lower to make it even more enticing.
Update as of February 13, 2013: Today, Nokia Philippines announced on its official Facebook page that the svelte Nokia Lumia 820 will be released in the country tomorrow - February 14, 2013 - Valentine's Day! And what's totally cool is that it will come with price tag far lower than our TP Guesstimate! We love that! For only Php 18,990, you can bring home a Nokia Lumia 820 in White, Red, Black, or Yellow! Now, ain't that sweet?
