Apple iPad 4th Generation Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Complete Specifications : 4th Gen vs. The New iPad - Should You Upgrade Now?
I still can't believe that Apple announced the 4th Generation iPad, the latest iteration to the company's popular tablet line, just 6 months after they launched the New iPad.
But yeah, the company has made the decision and although it's clearly a punch in the gut for New iPad owners and network carriers, Apple fans can't really do anything but to just accept it. That's just how it is, I guess.
There's not much to say about the 4th generation iPad, really, other than the fact that it looks almost exactly like the New iPad with little changes here and there. If you ask me, I think that the new slate would a fitting upgrade for iPad2 owners but if you're currently using the New iPad, then you might want to give it a pass and just wait for the 5th generation release (If you haven't decided to jump ship to Android or Windows RT by then, that is.)
When you place iPad 4th Generation beside the New iPad, you'll find that the most noticeable (or not) cosmetic difference comes in the form of the new 9-pin Lightning port, which altogether replaced the dock-connector on the previous release. Apple is expected to make more than $200 Million of additional revenue from accessories that work with this redesigned port. So there you go.
But the more important changes are found under the hood. The refreshed slate is powered by the new Apple A6X processor which is said to have twice the power and graphics performance of the Apple A5X chip inside the New iPad. Additionally, the 4th generation release comes with an upgraded 1.2 MegaPixel front-facing camera with back-lit sensor that also lets you make FaceTime HD video calls.
Apple's new tablet will be released in the United States on November 2, 2012. No word yet from the company, its carriers or official retailers in the Philippines on its availability but I believe it should reach our shores by Q1 2013. Keep scrolling down for the TP price guesstimate on all Apple iPad 4th Generation variants.
