Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Specifications : Dual SIM Dual Standby Single Core Android ICS Smartphone
I know that there are already a number of new ultra-cheap Dual SIM Dual Standby Android handsets out in the market (and some even have Dual Core CPUs) but if you insist on only purchasing smartphones made by leading and trusted multinational OEMs, then I understand that there should be very few real options for you.
Here's one - hitting the Philippine market soon - that you might want to check it out.
I spotted this on display at a cellphone shop in SM San Lazaro in Manila last Friday. I entered the store and asked the sales lady how much their Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 is and she told me they don't have a price on it yet as their units won't arrive until November.
Dual SIM Dual Standby Samsung Galaxy S Duos, which looks like a smaller Samsung Galaxy S3 without the curves that give the flagship release a pebble-like feel in the hand, comes replete with a 4-inch 480 x 800 pixels TFT capacitive touchscreen display, a 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, and a VGA 30fps video recorder. The handset runs TouchWiz-skinned Android ICS operating system out of the box with a 1 GHz single core ARM Cortex A5 CPU in a MSM7227A Snapdragon chipset, handles multitasking with 768MB of RAM, and supports a variety of connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G.
Yes, it doesn't have a dual core CPU (unlike that super-cheap Dual SIM Android phone that we featured lately) but at least, Samsung has already disclosed that the handset will get Jelly Bean firmware upgrade in the future among other regular software updates and improvements. Now, if that kind of after-sales service is important to you (for your peace of mind), then I guess you shouldn't mind spending a bit more on your smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S Duos has already been released in Europe and India with price tag of 255 Euros and 16,141 Rupees, respectively. I'm personally expecting it become available in the Philippines in time for our Yuletide gadget shopping season with SRP of around Php 12,500 to Php 13,500. (Again, that's just the TP Guesstimate.) Hopefully, Samsung Philippines can price it a bit below Php 10,000 - via a Christmas promo, maybe - just to have more people looking. Anyway, it's been out for quite a while in other territories so maybe it's also time for a slight price drop.
