Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Complete Specifications, Features - Arriving Soon?!
If you'll look at their specs sheets side by side, you'll realize that Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini - which was formally introduced by the Korean company in New York last week - has almost the same technical specifications as Samsung Galaxy S Advance launched in the Philippines way back in February.
Both phones have the same 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and 1 GHz Dual Core NovaThor CPU (albeit SGS Advance comes with U8500 vs. U8420 on SGS3 Mini), and come with similar number of ports and set of connectivity options.
The biggest difference between the two phone though - aside from the fact that Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (shown above) runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system right out of the box, supports MicroSIM, and has slightly more RAM - is that the Q4 release comes with the same pebble-like design identity as Samsung Galaxy S3.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance, which looks like a smaller Nexus Prime, entered the market with an official suggested retail price of Php 22,990. (If you remember, TechPinas was also the first tech blog in the world to feature that sleek smartphone in the flesh -- with GSMArena featuring our story. Oh, how time flies.) And I'm guessing that Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will don a similar if not a slightly more affordable price tag when it lands here either next month or in December.
Obviously, the biggest selling point of Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is that it looks like a slightly shrunk version of the very popular flagship release. So basically, it offers the same sleek 'nature inspired' rounded design in a package that's easier to hold, which is what a lot of smartphone users - especially those with quite small hands - are looking for.
So if you're in love with SGS3's design but you're turned off by its rather large footprint, its Mini version could very well be the phone for you.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will hit store shelves in United Kingdom this November with retail price of 298 GBP or around Php 19,800 with current conversion. Here's to hoping that the handset would arrive in the Philippines just as soon with an even lower SRP and that its availability in the market would drive the price of Samsung Galaxy S Advance further down.
