Create BlackBerry 10 Application Using Your Blog, Website or Facebook Page in Less Than 10 Minutes!
Last Thursday, January 24, I attended BlackBerry Philippines' workshop - held at the Manila Peninsula - for converting websites and blogs into BlackBerry 10 apps.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. David Patterson, RIM's Alliance Operations Head for Asia Pacific, and Mr. John Sibal, PinoyBBDev Founder, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing at the BlackBerry Developer Conference 2011 held in Singapore.
David and John basically taught us how to use BlackBerry App Generator to turn an RSS Feed or even a Facebook Page into full-blown applications for the upcoming BlackBerry 10 platform. The whole process, which can be completed online, is so easy and it only takes around 10 minutes to have an application ready to be submitted for RIM's verification and approval.
In line with RIM's preparations for the global launch of BlackBerry 10 smartphones happening on January 30, 2013, the company invites all webmasters and bloggers to submit their apps soonest. For those who are interested, here's a video that I found last night, which likewise gives a step by step guide on how you can turn your online publication or content into an app for RIM's new mobile platform.
As soon as your application gets approved, you will instantly be part of BlackBerry's developer program where you will be given tools on how you can monetize your content. This means that you won't have to look for advertisers yourself and if your app takes off, it can be another source of good income for you.
