Nokia Lumia 920 Release Date in the Philippines Will Be in the Latter Part of Q1 2013 : Official, Confirmed! TechPinas Exclusive!
I know a lot of you have been waiting eagerly for the arrival of Nokia Lumia 920 in the Philippines. And understandably so.
As I've earlier shared in TechPinas, Nokia Lumia 920 combines the power of Microsoft's new Windows Phone 8 operating system - with key features including Live Tiles, Microsoft Office suite, People Hub, and Internet Explorer 10 - and the Finnish giant's industry leading location services, PureView imaging technology headlined by optical image stabilization compensating for movements while shooting images and videos.
Really, when it comes to smoothness and beauty of user interface, and sheer power of imaging capabilities, Nokia Lumia 910 could very well be the phone to beat.
Specs-wise, Nokia Lumia 920 flaunts a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, which - according to Nokia - is the brightest and most sensitive smartphone screen currently available, and comes replete with a 1.5GHz Dual Core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1 GB of RAM, a Full HD video recorder, 8.7 MegaPixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and high-power short pulse LED flash, 32 GB of internal memory plus 7GB of free SkyDrive storage, a massive 2000 mAh battery pack that can be wirelessly charged, NFC, and LTE mobile connection support.
It's great and all but when will it be available locally, you ask? Knowing that the smartphone has been available in other territories since around November last year, I recently got in touch with Ms. Nikka Abes - Nokia's Communications Head for the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia - and asked her when exactly will the Philippines get Nokia Lumia 920.
Quoting Nikka, "We are working hard to ensure sufficient supply of both [Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820] for a launch in the latter part of Q1 2013. The reason that we are pushing back the launch date is that it is sometimes necessary to revise delivery schedules based on global product availability. While we are pleased about the response the phone has been getting from consumers in different parts of the world, we would of course like to apologize to Filipinos who were hoping to get their hands on a Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 sooner and we thank them for their patience."
You all know how much I admire Nokia and Nokia Lumia 920 merely reminds me why I fell head over heels in love with the brand. I personally own a Nokia 808 PureView and a Nokia Lumia 710 so I'm really curious to see how well the main strengths of those handsets would go together. Nokia Lumia 920 offers just that and a lot more -- so I'm sure the handset will be well worth the wait.
