Starmobile Engage 7HD Price Php 7,990, Quick Review, Complete Specifications, Unboxing Video, Touch Response Check, In the Flesh!
Starmobile Engage 7HD, the stellar follow-up to last year's best-selling Engage tablet, has made it to the TechPinas Hideout!
Given its technical specifications, which include a 7-inch 1280 x 800 HD resolution IPS display, an 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, a video recorder, 8 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, 4000 mAh battery pack, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it's truly hard to believe that this slate only costs Php 7,990. But it's for real so you best believe it.
I think Starmobile Engage 7HD is ideal for students, yuppies, and entry-level users who are looking for an affordable, yet fast and durable Android tablet that they can carry around and use to browse the web, play games, read e-books, listen to music, and watch movies, among others.
TP Friends, before I give you my unboxing and quick hands-on video, I just want to share the six things that I like about this device. Consider this as my quick review.
1. The Stunning Display: Just by reading this tablet's name, it's clear that Starmobile considers its IPS High Definition display to be its main selling point -- and rightfully so. I tell you, the screen is just a joy to behold; Details appear crisp and colors look vibrant.
2. Smooth Touch Response and Fast Performance: The combination of 1.2 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 based CPU and 1 GB of RAM truly delivers a great gaming and multimedia experience on the slate. Popular titles including Temple Run, Angry Birds, and Jetpack Joyride run smoothly on Starmobile Engage 7HD.
3. Stock UI: If you're not a fan of custom skins for Android, you'll love the fact that this slate has the stock Android ICS user interface by default.
4. Front-facing Speakers: This makes complete sense. Heck, I don't understand why loud speakers on most tablets are located at the back when users face the screen when playing with the device.
5. Sleek Design and Solid Construction: While Starmobile Engage 7HD's body is not made of metal, the device nonetheless feels very durable when you hold it. As for the design, I love the tapered sides and the glowing logo at the back -- first time to see that on a tablet, really.
6. 12 Months Warranty on Parts and Services: Unlike other affordable tablets out in the market, Starmobile Engage 7HD (as well as other Starmobile products) comes with a full year of warranty on services and parts. This means that you can rest assured that you'll always get free and reliable after-sales support should you need it. Now, that's true value for your money!
What about some points for improvement, you ask? Well, outdoors and in well-lit environments, the 8 MegaPixel camera delivers great shots. But indoors and in poor lighting conditions, images appear kinda dark even when you use the LED flash. And that's it. All things considered, 7HD is an incredible release.
You'll find the slate's complete technical specifications at the bottom of the packaging. Starmobile's social networking accounts are also listed there; Feel free to 'like' and 'follow' the company. You may also ask questions directly to their digital marketing team via those accounts --
