Nokia Lumia 520 Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Features : Affordable Windows Phone 8 Handset!
Nokia Lumia 520, officially announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona just a few hours ago, looks and works a lot like the Nokia Lumia 620 -- only it's far more affordable.
Whereas Nokia Lumia 620 comes with an official suggested retail price of Php 11,600 in the Philippines, Nokia Lumia 520 will become available in Europe next month with price tag of only 139 Euros or just roughly Php 7,500! And what's cool is that despite such price disparity, the phones share almost similar technical specifications including the Dual Core Krait processor running Windows Phone 8 operating system, 512 MB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal storage. Sure, Nokia Lumia 620 has a slight advantage when it comes to imaging capabilities - thanks to its LED flash which should come in handy in low light conditions - and screen brilliance because of its Nokia Clear Black display, but Nokia Lumia 520 matches that by having a larger battery and a wider viewing area.
While I appreciate its very pocket-friendly price and the decent set of internal specs, what I find most attractive about Nokia Lumia 520 are its very youthful design and that gamut of location services that only Nokia can provide. Just like the far more expensive Nokia Lumia 820, this smartphone features a swappable back cover - available in vibrant hues - which you can conveniently change regularly to match your outfit or to reflect your mood. Also, all Nokia Lumia devices - including Nokia Lumia 520 - come with powerful and reliable offline navigation applications like Nokia Maps, Nokia Transit, and Nokia Drive that should come in handy not only when you're travelling outside the country but also when you're simply driving or walking around town.
According to the Finnish company, Nokia Lumia 520 should land in the Asia Pacific within Q2 2012 -- that's just a little more than a month away from now. No word yet on the official SRP in the Philippines but I'm guessing it should cost more or less Php 7,500. TP Friends, while we're all awaiting further updates regarding this incredibly sulit release, you might want to become more familiar with Nokia Lumia 520's complete technical specifications:
