Simplism iPad Mini Case Philippines Quick Review : Five Things I Like About The Japanese Company's Smart Flip Shell
A few weeks back, our friends at Digits Trading sent me this really cool case for my iPad Mini.
I believe the company intends to bring + Simplism Smart Flip Shell for iPad Mini to its partner stores and official retailers, including Digital Hub and Beyond The Box, within this month. So before it hits store shelves, let me share with you the five things I like about it.
First, I just love its simple, understated design. It comes with few yet effective accents like this wooden tab in front - with Simplism's logo engraved on it - adding that organic, tree-hugger feel to the product and the thick white thread side seams giving the case that reassuring, well-constructed look. Such simplicity gives it that corporate finesse and sophistication that you'll rarely find in cases for iDevices these days.
Second, when you open the case, you'll find these business card pockets behind the cover, which could come in handy when you bring your iPad Mini to a meeting or a conference and you meet potential business partners with whom you'll swap cards with.
The magnetic flip or cover also works like Apple's Smart Cover for instantly entering sleep or wake mode. The case is available in five elegant color combinations; Mine is in purple and beige.
Third, the case doubles as a stand for your iPad Mini and even gives you various angles for viewing the screen;
The steepest angle is ideal for viewing movies or for giving a slide presentation using your slate.
While the most acute or the sharpest angle is great for typing on the touchscreen or for swiping through photos.
Fourth thing I like about the Simplism case is that you get all of these grooves and holes on the sides for quick and easy access to the Lightning port, the 3.5mm audio jack, the power button, the sound lock switch, and the volume controls. So really, having this case on won't compromise your user experience.
Fifth and finally, because of thin and snug fit plastic shell hugging the tablet, the case does not look and feel bulky. I love how sleek and elegant my Simplism case looks when placed beside my paperback books.
What keeps the cover in place when you close it is this curved, thin piece of plastic with velvet lining that clips the side of the tablet. I know the velvet is there to prevent it from scratching the shell of the iPad Mini but I'd still suggest you take extra caution when clipping it in place.
First time to hear about Simplism? Well, Simplism is a Japanese company that specializes in creating quality accessories and peripherals for Apple products. As reflected in the brand logo, 'Simple with a Plus' is Simplism's design philosophy in crafting its products.
As of writing, Digits Trading hasn't disclosed the official suggested retail price nor the release date of this very cute case in its partner stores. Don't worry, though, I will definitely update you once it becomes available.
Update: Simplism Smart Flip Shell for iPad Mini is now available at all Beyond The Box stores nationwide. The official suggested price is only Php 1,699! Let your friends know.
