Huawei Ascend P6 Price, Specs, Unboxing, In the Flesh Photos, Antutu Benchmark Test Score, Release Date
It was love at first sight.
I opened the box that Huawei Device Philippines sent me a few days back and I was instantly smitten by the gorgeous handset that sits inside.
Measuring only 6.18 millimeters at its thickest point and flaunting an elegant aluminum frame, Huawei Ascend P6 - according to Mr. Johnson Ma, Huawei Device Business Philippines' Country Head - "is a star among smartphones with its industry-leading design, high-quality camera, and intuitive user interface." That's, of course, on top of the fact that it is inarguably the thinnest smartphone in the world today.
Huawei Ascend P6 is a sight to behold and a joy to hold.
If iPhone 5 and Sony Xperia Z had a love-child, it would definitely be this stunning handset. Weighing only 120 grams, this feather light device sports a contoured, squarish footprint similar to the Japanese company's 2013 flagship release - albeit with a unique, curved base - complemented by a slick metal band similar to what you'll find on Apple's current smartphone.
Turning its 4.7-inch IPS+ HD display on, you will be greeted by crisp details and vibrant colors, which truly bring to life Huawei's beautiful Emotion UI version 1.6 serving as skin for the phone's Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Swiping your finger on the scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass touchscreen, you are sure to get a lag-free and enjoyable mobile experience, thanks to the handset's stellar innards, headlined by the ARM Cortex A9-based Huawei K3V2 Quad Core chipset and 2 GB of RAM for efficient multitasking.
The Chinese electronics giant's current flagship has got both the looks and power departments covered. But if you ask me, what makes it truly special are its remarkable imaging capabilities.
Huawei Ascend P6 features a whopping 5 MegaPixel front-facing camera - replete with BSI sensor and auto facial-enhancing capabilities - allowing you to take gorgeous selfies that you will definitely want to share on Facebook and Instagram. The handset's 8 MegaPixel rear-facing BSI camera with F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro view also enables 1080p Full HD video recording and playback. And with the company's very own IMAGESmart camera application, Ascend P6 allows the most novice photographer to take great shots, with contrast and color enhancement, auto scene recognition, object tracing focus, and instant facial beauty support.
I'm very happy with my Huawei Ascend P6 -- so much so that I've decided to make it a 2013 TechPinas Favorite, joining Nokia Lumia 920, Sony Xperia Z, and a few other stunning gadget releases this year. I would highly recommend this smartphone to anyone's who's looking for a reasonably priced Android flagship with looks that effortlessly attract attention and a front-facing camera that delivers flattering photos.
To those who are interested, Huawei Ascend P6 dons an official suggested retail price of Php 18,990 (which I think is already low for a device of its calibre) and is now available in the following shops nationwide:

Huawei Ascend P6's rather high 13,680 Antutu Benchmark Test Score more or less reflects the power and collective performance of the phone's hardware.
