Top Xbox 360 Games of 2013 : What's Your Favorite Title This Year?
As the current era of consoles draws inevitably to a close, it is now time to reflect on the Xbox 360's place within it. Until very recently it was the top-selling video game console of its generation with it only recently being pipped by the PS3. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have, undoubtedly, been wildly successful in terms of sales figures and will definitely take a lot for the next generation of gaming machines to beat them in that regard.
With the soon approaching Xbox One console readying itself to supersede it, Xbox 360 seems to be determined to go out with a bang rather than a whimper with some phenomenal gaming titles being released in 2013. Top-notch Xbox 360 titles are defying the console's aging architecture to produce stunning graphics at high frame rates which most never thought would be seen on the platform. Let's take a look at what are likely to be the top selling Xbox 360 games of 2013 once the year reaches its end.
Two titles which will come very close to claiming the crown of top selling Xbox 360 game of 2013, in my opinion, are the latest iterations of two incredibly popular long-running series: BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider, which had sold more than 1 million copies in less than forty-eight hours of its release and has become the biggest UK title launch in 2013 so far. The way the developers of these games have managed to modernize and update already stellar gaming experiences has won them legions of fans and is spurring on strong sales numbers.
However, I believe they are going to both be blown away in sales numbers by the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 5 which looks set to shatter all previous sales records, such is the incredible anticipation for the game across the world. Other challengers for top selling and rated Xbox 360 games of 2013 include Saints Row 4, FIFA 2014, Battlefield 4, Diablo 3 and the eagerly awaited Watch Dogs.
With the soon to be released Xbox One's launch, games may be priced slightly higher compared to the majority of the back catalogue of the Xbox 360. It is then possible that there will still be life in the old dog for a while longer. One thing's for sure: with so many hot releases vying to be the top selling Xbox 360 game of the year 2013, will definitely be a bumper year for gamers!
