White Samsung Galaxy Note3 Unboxing, Kimstore Offers SGNote3 Lowest Price in the Philippines
"Which color do you prefer, Mark, White or Black?" my friend Kim Lato asked me when I told her that I want to get Samsung Galaxy Note3 from Kimstore, my trusted online store.
"White, Kim!" I replied without a second thought.
I've seen many Samsung Galaxy Note3 units ever since the Korean Giant announced the handset in Berlin a few weeks back. I've never seen one in White - in the flesh - though.
I've had the chance to extensively play with the Black variant, which I think looks great. But let me tell you, in my eyes, the one in White is absolutely more gorgeous.
Both Black and White SGNote3 have the same nature-inspired eco-friendly packaging that's designed to look like a block of wood. Samsung used Soy Ink to print the details, which supposedly makes the box 100% recyclable and even more environmentally friendly.
At the bottom of the box, you will find the 2013 flagship phablet's key technical specifications, which include LTE connectivity support, 2.3 GHz Quad Core (Krait-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) processor, 32GB of internal storage which you can beef up via the microSD card slot, 5.7-inch Full HD SuperAMOLED display, 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera (with LED flash and BSI sensor) at the back, 2 MegaPixel camera (with BSI sensor) in front, GPS/GLONASS, 4K or UltraHD video playback and recording, 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, S-Pen Stylus, Smart Remote, and 3,200 mAh (Li-Ion) battery.
Samsung Galaxy Note III GT-N9005 with LTE support and Quad Core Processor - as opposed to N9000 with Octa-Core chipset - is the official version released in the Philippines. This variant is compatible with the LTE bands or frequencies of both Globe Telecom and Smart Communications.
Opening the box, we'll find the White SGNote3 unit itself, the charger, microUSB 3.0 to USB connector cable (as SGNote3 has a microUSB 3.0 port in lieu of a microUSB 2.0 port), the battery, 5 extra tips for the stylus, metal stylus tip remover, earphones with in-ear buds, extra silicon earbuds, Key Features Handbook, Smart Switch Guide card, and Quick Start Guide. I'm working on the unboxing video, TP Friends. Will upload the clip on Youtube soonest!
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is 1.3 millimeters slimmer, 1.1 millimeters thinner, and 15 grams lighter than its predecessor, SGNote2, and yet the former has a larger 5.7 inch display versus the 5.5-inch screen of the latter.
As earlier explained on TechPinas, expanding on the modern Samsung Galaxy design approach, SGNote3 features a soft and textured-touch back cover replete with faux leather finish alluding to the timeless attractiveness of classic planners. This case aesthetically looks and feels like leather - even having side-stitching imprint - but is, in fact, still plastic.
The camera module protrudes at the back of the handset with the LED flash positioned below the lens. I would suggest that you purchase a case for the phone just the protect the back part where the camera is, which I think will be rather prone to scratches and dents because of its 'jutting out' design.
Just like on the first and second generation Samsung Galaxy Note releases, the S-Pen stylus of SGNote3 is neatly tucked in a hole in the lower right corner at the back of the device. Unlike the previous styli, though, the current S-Pen - apart from flaunting a serrated metal accent - gives a springy feedback when you write using it delivering some level of pressure sensitivity, which is especially noticeable when you use the calligraphy pen in S Note.
Design-wise, the beauty of Samsung Galaxy Note3 can be found in the details. You will see subtle grooves or horizontal serration on the faux metal frame lining the sides of the handset. These complement the design accents on the S-Pen stylus. On the face of the device, the white bezel features a crisscross or lattice pattern underneath the glossy laminate, which gleams when light hits it.
Samsung Galaxy Note3 is a joy to behold but its real wonder lies in its powerhouse performance, creativity apps suite, and imaging and video recording prowess. I'll dedicate a separate entry for each of these topics after I get around two weeks of extensive use of the phablet. Stay tuned! In the meantime, you might want to watch my exclusive quick unboxing video of this stunning flagship handset.
