Cherry Mobile Breeze, Storm, and Superion Explorer Price, Specs, Features : Very Affordable Android Tablets, Out Now
Yesterday, local electonics giant, Cosmic Technologies Inc. - distributor of Cherry Mobile devices, announced and released three new budget Android tablets just in time for Pinoy consumers' Yuletide gadget shopping.
With price tag of just Php 1,999, Cherry Mobile Breeze is the most affordable of the trio. The slate runs Android Jelly Bean operating system with a 1.2 GHz Single Core processor and handles multitasking with 512 MB of RAM. Other features include a 7-inch Multi-Touch screen, Wi-Fi b/g/n support, 1.3MP Front Camera, Accelerometer, G-Sensor, and 4GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot.
For whom is it? I think this slate is ideal for kids and older users who aren't really into using specs-intensive applications and games.
In the middle of the pack in terms of price and leading it when it comes to screen size is Cherry Mobile Storm. Flaunting a massive 7.85-inch multi-touch screen and offering 8 GB of internal storage that's expandable via microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Storm - which sells for Php 3,699 - runs Android Jelly Bean OS with its 1.2 GHz Dual Core and handles multitasking with 512 MB of RAM. Users will also enjoy the benefits of the 5 MegaPixel main camera at the back, 0.3 MegaPixel front cam, Wi-Fi b/g/n capability, and the quite sizable 3,000 mAh battery pack.
For whom is it? Get Cherry Mobile Storm if you're looking for an Android slate the size of the iPad Mini - with decent technical specifications - that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Finally, the most pricey device in the bunch is Cherry Mobile Superion Explorer, which is actually a phablet. This 7-inch tablet also works as a Triband 3G and Quadband GSM Single SIM phone. Running Android Jelly Bean with a 1 GHz Dual Core processor, Php 4,499 Superion Explorer features Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth support, GPS, and a 3,000 mAh battery pack.
For whom is it? Superion Explorer is for users who are looking for an all-in-one device. If you don't want to carry both a smartphone and a tablet in your bag and you're looking for a gadget that combines the functionality of those two, this one's for you.
Now, for those who are wondering: As of writing, I am still awaiting word from Cherry Mobile on the exact chipset model that powers each of these slates as well as their display type and resolution. I'll update the entry as soon as I get more official information about these new products.
