TechPinas Exclusive
O+ is truly on a roll these days!
It appears that the American electronics company is doing so well in the Philippines that they've decided to launch yet another flagship smartphone this year following the ultra-popular and very successful O+ 8.15, O+ 8.16, and O+ Fab Elite -- all of which were first seen and introduced online in full detail via TechPinas.
Meet O+ Imagine, TP Friends!
Last night, I received a curious email in my inbox from a secret source and, amazingly, it contained all relevant information about O+'s new flagship handset arriving this Christmas! If you think releasing three flagship phones all in one year is already way too much for any electronics company, think again. O+ is completely re-imagining the rules of marketing handsets in the Philippines.
Apart from flaunting an ultra slim and sleek form factor and scratch-resistant glass-metal-glass sandwich design language reminiscent of Sony Xperia flagship releases, O+ Imagine also comes with the very best set of hardware and software features that the US-based company could have given a device this year. TP Friends, here's the phone's complete and verified technical specifications table:
In terms of hardware, O+ Imagine is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 357 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU based MediaTek MT6589 Turbo SoC, handles multitasking with 2GB of RAM, and has 32 GB of non-expandable internal storage. On the outside, we will find the phone's 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display underneath what the company calls "scratch-resistant carbon glass", which O+ also used for phone's back plate. Multimedia features include the 13 MegaPixel non-interpolated autofocus main camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 2 MegaPixel front cam with BSI sensor for bright and clear selfies, and a 1080p Full HD video recorder.
O+ Imagine runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system without any custom skin but O+ nonetheless added some neat features that I'm sure a lot of users will appreciate. Two of my favorite are "Double Tap Home Button" to turn off display and lock the phone (and likewise to turn on the display and unlock the device) and "Swipe Left and Right" to quickly jump from one application to the next. I will give you a demo of these cool features once I get my unit from O+.
So how much will it be and when can we get it? TP Friends, according to our secret insider, O+ Imagine will become available at all O+ Concept Stores and Kiosks nationwide before Christmas this year. It's official SRP is Php 18,995 but if you're getting it within this month of December, you will enjoy the special introductory promo price of only Php 16,995 -- that's a whopping Php 2,000 off! And for that amount, you will already get the free Sennheiser Earphones exclusively unbundled with O+ Imagine!
