Oppo Android Smartphones Philippines : Where To Buy Them?
Been receiving lots of inquiries from my readers lately on where they can purchase Oppo Android smartphones. I guess rumors that the Chinese electronics company will be opening office and starting operations in the Philippines soon have really helped create a lot of buzz for the brand locally.
But are they really? Well, as far as I know, Oppo is already in the process of building its headquarters in the country and is trying to hire more Pinoys to be part of its operations. In fact, Oppo has just posted job openings for its local office - located at the 29th floor of One Corporate Center along J. Vargas corner Meralco Avenue in Ortigas Center, Pasig City - on Jobstreet.
For those who are not yet familiar with the brand, OPPO Electronics Corporation is an electronics manufacturer based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China with operations in other countries including Indonesia, Russia, Vietnam, Mexico, India, Singapore, and Malaysia. Its major product lines include MP3 players, portable Media players, LCD-TVs, eBooks, DVD/Blu-ray Disc players and mobile phones.
As of today, I believe Oppo has yet to build its own concept stores and find retail partners across the country to serve as channels for its devices. Nonetheless, online sellers including Kimstore - my trusted gadget store - have been offering Oppo handsets to local consumers since last year.
Currently, there are two Oppo Android smartphones in Kimstore's product catalogue. There's the 2013 flagship release Oppo Find 5 - priced at Php 19,000 - featuring a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density) Full HD IPS LCD underneath scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2, 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 1.9 MegaPixel front cam, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and a Quad Core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 320 GPU based Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon SoC running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
We also have the Php 9,900 Oppo ULike 2 with 4.5 inch 540 x 960 pixels (~245 ppi pixel density) TFT display, 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 5 MegaPixel front cam, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of ROM, and a Mediatek MT6517 chipset incorporating a Dual Core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU and a PowerVR SGX531u GPU. If you're interested, you may get in touch with Kimstore via 0905-3201818, 0908-8869799, 0922-8859799, or 02-9042966.
One of the most anticipated Android smartphones from Oppo this year is the Oppo Find 7 flagship release. According to rumors, this handset will come with two versions with the more expensive variant having a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and a whopping 50 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash. Hopefully, Oppo's Philippine headquarters will already be 100% up and running by the time Oppo Find 7 gets officially announced.
