Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Philippines Price Php 18,990, Complete Specs, Release Date, Key Features, Actual Unit Photos, Hands-On Video
Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is the most affordable full-fledged Android phablet that the Japanese company has released so far. So if you're on the look out for a beautiful and feature-packed smartphone-tablet hybrid that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, then I would suggest that you wait for its official release in the country next month, April 2014.
Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is part of Sony's stellar 2014 Android smartphone line-up for the Philippines announced via the exclusive media event - held at Fairmont Hotel in Makati City - that I graced yesterday.
According to the company, "Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will lead the category through its combination of advanced display and camera technologies, it will bring large-screen entertainment in an amazingly portable form factor and it will do it all whilst providing incredible value for money. Its large HD display will deliver big screen entertainment on the go whilst the efficiency of the design will allow it to remain the worlds most portable large screen smartphone."
Measuring only 7.7 millimeters at thickest point and weighing just 171.7 grams, upper midrange release Sony Xperia T2 Ultra could very well be the thinnest and lightest 6-inch Android phablet available anywhere in the world. The phone's stunning 6-inch HD TRILUMINOS display extends to within 2.5 mm of the device's edges. This means that it has a screen to phone size ratio of 73.6%, both making the most of the space available and ensuring that the phone is no wider than a standard credit card.
As explained by the legendary Japanese Electronics Giant, "Big, bright screens can often use a lot of power, but that's not a problem with Xperia T2 Ultra, Sony has ensured that it is ready to go the distance by incorporating a battery-efficient processor and massive 3000 mAh battery, coupled with Sony’s unique Battery STAMINA Mode that automatically turns off functions to save power when you don’t need them and restarts them when you do."
Apart from the extra-large display, what makes this release special is its powerful 13.1 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and Exmor RS sensor for improved low-light performance. T2 Ultra also features Sony's new Smart Social Camera ecosystem that allows developers to create camera add-ons that extend the functionality and re-define the role of the smartphone's camera. Apps available at launch will include:
As you all know, design language is a major consideration for me when I purchase gadgets. Yes, I want my smartphones to have powerhouse innards and to come with great imaging and video recording capabilities but I also want them to be gorgeous. And what I love about Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is that it has the same glass sandwich Omnibalance design language of Sony Xperia Z, Z1, Z2, and Z Ultra, which I find very, very beautiful and elegant.
This visually arresting exterior is perfectly complemented by T2 Ultra's highly capable innards. The phablet runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system skinned by the company's very own Xperia UI with a Quad Core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 305 GPU based Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset. T2 Ultra efficiently handles multitasking with 1 GB of RAM and sports 8 GB of internal storage that you can instantly and easily expand through the phone's microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB.
TP Friends, LTE-capable Sony Xperia T2 Ultra will be available in three classic Xperia colors, namely, White, Black, and Purple upon launch. Again, it will hit store shelves across the archipelago this coming April and its official suggested retail price will only be Php 18,990, which I think it is already very aggressive considering the phablet's great camera, stunning display, and head-turning design identity. - Collage: Allows you to drop images directly into creative photo collages by changing formats, layouts and backgrounds
- Background Defocus: Create stunning images full of depth by separating foreground elements and burring the background
- Timeshift Burst: Ensures you get the perfect photo every time by taking 31 photos within two seconds, both before and after you press the shutter. You can then scroll through them afterwards to select the perfect shot.
- Sweep Panorama: Snap amazing and seamless panoramas easily. Take a snap then sweep the phone in a direction you set to capture wide-angle panoramas.
