Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity Phablet TVC Features Retro Kris Aquino Looking for a Big Smartphone
If you watched Aquino and Abunda Tonight last April 22, 2014, then you might have caught the official break of Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity's television commercial featuring the Queen of All Media, Miss Kris Aquino, during one of the gaps.
If you remember, last September 2013, Kris and Cherry Mobile both disclosed via their social media accounts that they have entered into a partnership for the promotion of future devices by CM -- with the Kapamilya Star being the company's new flagship celebrity endorser.
As I've mentioned in a previous post, Kris Aquino has practically done the rounds when it comes to endorsing tech related products and services in the country. So really, she's no stranger to our industry. For many years, she was the star endorser of Smart Communications. In December 2012 though, in a surprising turn of events, she announced that she trusts Globe Telecom in a TVC, which made public her change of allegiance. Earlier in 2012, Nokia Philippines got Kris as the sole celebrity endorser of Nokia Lumia 610 - an affordable Windows Phone handset that eventually became a best-seller for the Finnish company.
In her new Cherry Mobile TVC, Kris Aquino is shown in retro outfit while typing a document on a typewriter -- a once popular device that most kids today are no longer familiar with. She all of a sudden took out her smartphone and realized that it's way too small for convenient typing on the touchscreen. Then, preparing to go out of her pad for a party or a quick meet-up with friends (maybe), she tried to shove a ginormous tablet into her tiny purse -- to no avail, of course. The solution: The Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity phablet, which is big enough for easy typing on the screen and, at the same time, small enough to easily slip in a purse.
It's no secret to Pinoys who are active in social media that Kris Aquino's current favorite smartphone is the Apple iPhone 5S, which she uses to take photos and update her Instagram account. Interestingly, that handset also doesn't have an too big display -- just like the one that she carelessly threw in the commercial. I guess it remains to be seen if she will altogether dump the Cupertino company's current flagship in favor of the bigger Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity, which she now endorses. Given the fact that Kris Aquino has consistently been very transparent online and on TV about the gadgets she loves using, I believe we won't have to wait too long to find out.
