Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum Price Php 4,999, Specs, Features, In the Flesh Photos : 5-inch Quad Core Android Smartphone
Local electronics giant, Cherry Mobile, has just unveiled a new Quad Core Android smartphone - that's very easy on the pocket - via the company's Facebook Fan Page.
Dual SIM Dual Standby and Miracast Ready Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum is equipped with a 5 inch 1280 x 720 HD IPS display, 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash at the back, 2 MegaPixel front cam, HD video recorder, and USB-On-The-Go support. As for connectivity, the handset supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.
Inside the shell, the device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with vanilla interface with its Quad Core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 and VideoCore IV Multimedia Technology GPU based Broadcom BCM23550 SoC (that integrates GLONASS GPS capability), has 1 GB of RAM for efficient multitasking, and comes with 4GB of internal storage that can be beefed up using the phone's microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
Now, considering its price tag and technical specifications, it's clear that Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum's direct competitor will be the best-selling MyPhone Agua Rio. The two Dual SIM smartphones have the same 5-inch IPS display, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of ROM. Yes, both have a quad core chipset but the Agua Rio runs on the 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and 416 MHz Mali-400 MP2 GPU based MT6582 SoC made by MediaTek -- so I'm expecting a difference in performance between the two devices. As for the design, I would say that the colorful Rio has a more fun look that most young consumers would love while the Omega Spectrum has a more corporate look highlighted by the matte back cover and chrome accents.
Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum will be available at all Cherry Mobile Concept Stores, Kiosks, and authorized retail partners nationwide within a couple of weeks. Again, it's official suggested retail price is Php 4,999, which I think is very competitive.
