LG G2 Mini Philippines Price Php 13,990, Specs, Features, Initial Impressions, Release Date : Affordable Quad Core Android Smartphone
LG G2 Mini is ideal for students and yuppies who want to experience some of the key features of the best-selling flagship release LG G2 but aren't keen on spending all that much money on a smartphone.
Donning a suggested retail price of only Php 13,990, LG G2 Mini flaunts a number of unique and recognizable features found on the much more expensive LG G2 including the Rear Key, which - as earlier explained on TechPinas - gives users more control and easier access to the power button and volume keys since it is positioned in a spot where the index finger naturally rests when holding the phone.
LG G2 Mini also comes with an updated version of one of the things that I love most about my LG G2, the patented Knock-On feature. Knock-On allows the user to turn the phone's display on or off by simply tapping the screen twice with your finger. But LG G2 Mini brings this capability to a higher level - out of the box - with Knock Code that lets you customize or make your own tap codes to unlock the device.
This midrange smartphone also has UX features already found in previous LG smartphones, including QuickMemo that lets the user handwrite and share ideas onscreen using his finger; QuickTranslator, which translates scanned words up to 64 languages; and QuickRemote, which operates home entertainment devices just like a conventional remote control.
As the mini version of the Korean company's current flagship handset, LG G2 Mini has a smaller 4.7 inches 540 x 960 pixels IPS display, only has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM, and has a less powerful 8 MegaPixel main camera and Quad Core Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset (versus 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of ROM, 13 MegaPixels camera, and Snapdragon 800 on the LG G2). Nonetheless, it has extra features that you won't find in LG G2 like the microSD card slot for expanding the storage, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and a removable battery pack, which some users want their handsets to have.
Off hand, overall, I think LG G2 Mini is an affordable quad core smartphone that's definitely worth checking out. Sure, it's not quite as powerful as its high-end sibling, the LG G2, but it has very decent innards and multimedia features -- especially when you consider its price point. I'd say that if you're a budget-conscious gadget fan who's in love with LG's innovative Rear Key, Knock On, and UX enhancements and you want a phone that fits nicely in the pocket, you should consider getting this device.

LG G2 Mini flaunts a textured, non-glossy back cover that supposedly makes the phone easier to hold and less likely to accidentally slip your grasp while holding it.
