MyPhone Agua Infinity Price, Specs, Antutu Benchmark Score : Exclusive First Look at MyPhone's First Octa Core Smartphone and List of Stores Where You Can Buy It!
Last week, I had a meeting with our friends from the local electronics giant, MyPhone. And Mr. Jaime Alcatara, President of the company, let me play with his prototype unit of MyPhone Agua Infinity, their much-anticipated first ever Octa Core Android device.
Priced at only Php 12,999, MyPhone Agua Infinity is the most affordable flagship-level Octa Core handset currently available in the market. And what's great is that, for that amount, users will already get a smartphone with top-notch specifications and head-turning design and construction.
As you can see in these in-the-flesh photos, Infinity flaunts a glass-metal-glass sandwich design language that looks visually arresting.
Like Apple iPhone 5S and Sony Xperia Z1, MyPhone's current flagship has a real metal rim running down its sides that doesn't only make the phone look more attractive and elegant - something that corporate users will surely appreciate - but also gives users that reassuring air and feel of durability.
MyPhone Agua Infinity has a 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display panel - that looks clear, brilliant, and crisp regardless of the viewing angle - and it's protected by the scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 touchscreen.
At the rear, we'll find the microUSB port and the loudspeaker, which delivers high and bright acoustic for a fairly enjoyable audio experience.
MyPhone Agua Infinity features two cameras. There's an 8 MegaPixel front cam with BSI sensor that's good enough to give you clear and crisp selfies even in low lighting conditions and we have this powerhouse 16 MegaPixel autofocus main camera with LED flash and BSI sensor. Notice the protruding camera module? Its because they had to fit it in such a slim and thin handset enclosure.
As I mentioned in first feature about this device last March, the Infinity runs vanilla Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system with its Octa Core 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 700 MHz Mali 450 MP4 GPU based MediaTek MT6592 SoC, handles multitasking with 2GB of RAM and has 16 GB of non-expandable internal storage.
When I ran Antutu Benchmark Test on the prototype unit, the combination of these innards gave it a score of 26,825, which supposedly puts it ahead of Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S4, and HTC One in terms of performance. "When we ran Antutu Test on the actual retail units, we got scores in the area of 27,000," Mr. Alcantara told me.
Other notable features and technical specifications of the Infinity include Wireless Display and USB-On-The-Go support, and the non-removable 2,350 mAh Li-Ion battery pack that delivers around a whole day of uptime with mixed usage. In terms of connectivity, the handset supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.
Freebie! When you purchase MyPhone Agua Infinity, you will get a free flip cover that even transforms into a stand -- perfect for watching movies on the device!
TP Friends, Dual SIM Dual Standby MyPhone Agua Infinity is now available at select MyPhone Stores and Kiosks nationwide, namely, Cash & Carry Makati, Waltermart North Edsa, Festival Alabang, SM City Taytay, Waltermart Makati, SM Lipa, SM Calamba, SM Pampanga, SM Clark, SM Baguio, Victory Mall Balanga, SM Cebu, SM Iloilo, KCC Mall Gen San, Selected Allphones Outlets, Selected Automatic Center Outlets, Selected E-Phones Outlets, Selected MX Mind Alliance Branches, MyPhone P. Aldana Branch, and MyPhone Shoppers Branch. The flagship release - available in two colors, Black and White (which is coming soon) - will be out at all MyPhone partner retailers a bit later this month.

The phone has two microSIM slots (with Hot Swap capability) located separately on either sides.
