MyPhone Agua Rio Lite Price Php 3,999, Specs, Release Date : How Is It Different From the Regular MyPhone Agua Rio?
Following the immense success of its Php 4,999 Agua Rio, Pinoy handset maker MyPhone today officially announced an even more affordable quad core Android smartphone.
Priced at only Php 3,999 - that's a thousand pesos less than the regular version, MyPhone Agua Rio Lite presents a great opportunity for students, yuppies, and gadgets fans who are on a tight budget to experience the many benefits of a quad core Android device. And it also doesn't hurt that the handset, which is available in a number of vibrant hues, looks definitely cute.
As its very name suggests, MyPhone Agua Rio Lite - measuring 138.5 x 71.5 x 9.5 mm - is the reduced or reductive version of the regular release. It features a 4.7 inch WVGA 480 x 800 pixels IPS display, 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 2 MegaPixel front cam for selfies, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA+ connectivity support, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and a removable 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. Inside the hood, Rio Lite runs vanilla Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with its 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 416 MHz Mali-400 MP2 GPU based MediaTek MT6582M SoC, handles multitasking with 512 MB of RAM, and has 4 GB ROM that can be beefed up via microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB.
In comparison, the regular MyPhone Agua Rio has the same chipset, 2 MegaPixel front cam, 4 GB of ROM, and 2,000 mAh battery size but has a bigger 5 inch HD IPS display, more powerful 8 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and better multitasking 1 GB of RAM. If you ask me, the biggest and most noticeable difference between the two would have to be the display; It's just bigger and clearer on the regular release.
So which Rio should you get? Well, if you're on a very tight budget and you don't mind having a phone with a non-HD and slightly smaller display, go for the Rio Lite. But if you're cool with spending an additional thousand bucks if only to get that HD screen, 8 MegaPixel main cam, and more RAM, go for the regular Rio.
TP Friends, MyPhone Agua Rio Lite is now available at all MyPhone Concept Stores, Kiosks, and authorized retail partners across the country. It's available in Black, White, Red, Orange, and Sky Blue.
