Nokia X2 Android Smartphone Will Have Qualcomm MSM8210 Chipset, 1 GB of RAM, and 4 GB of ROM?
Nokia XL hasn't even been launched in a lot of the Finnish company's key markets around the world but it seems some users in China have already gotten hold of the 2015 iteration to Nokia's Android line of smartphones.
Just a few hours ago, someone at Baidu Forums (Baidu is more or less China's version of Google) posted an Antutu Benchmark Score screen capture of what appears to be Nokia X2, which - based on its name - should be the follow-up to best-selling Nokia X Android handset released last March 2014.
According to users who reposted that image online, Nokia X2 will run on Qualcomm MSM8210 SoC that incorporates a 1.2 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex CPU plus Adreno 302 GPU and powers other Android phones including Huawei Ascend Y530, Sony Xperia E1, Sony Xperia E1 Dual, and Motorola Moto E. Other purported internal specifications include 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of ROM. In contrast, Nokia X from this year runs on a less powerful Dual Core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A5 CPU, Adreno 203 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, only has 512 MB of RAM, and comes with the same 4GB of internal storage.
If we were to believe these unverified information, it seems that Nokia has got the innards improvement down pat on its 2015 Android release. It won't be a major upgrade - more so when you compare it to what's inside current Android phones by local brands in this price category - but at least, it's a step forward.
As you know, I am a Nokia X owner and I'm in love with Fastlane and Nokia's location services -- including Here Maps, which is highly accurate. Also, Nokia X Software Platform's tile-laden interface looks fresh and unique especially when placed side by side the vanilla UI of other Android phones. Anyway, I think this news is exciting; I'm greatly looking forward to seeing the follow-up to my phone. I'm sure it will look just as cool and feel just as sturdy as a rock in my hand.
