Acer Aspire Switch 10 Philippines Price Php 19,900, Complete Specs, Features : Acer's Asus Transformer T100 Convertible Tablet Counterpart
Taiwanese electronics giant Acer Inc. may have taken a while to come up with a device to go against Asus' rather successful Transformer T100 Windows 8.1 convertible tablet but looking at the resulting product, I think such tardiness can well be forgiven.
Acer Aspire Switch 10 is a hybrid or convertible device which combines the portability of a 10.1-inch Windows 8.1 slate with all the benefits of a keyboard dock donning a sizable trackpad.
According to Acer, "The Aspire Switch 10 knows design does not only live in a static image. Design lives in use. It is the feeling of the metal under fingers, a smooth release, a conveniently slim profile. Acer Snap Hinge design is flipping, folding, docking, detaching and all of the activities that ensue. [...] Use the Aspire Switch 10 as a portable tablet, type with its keyboard for productivity, pivot its screen to share a presentation with others, or flip it to watch a movie when space is limited. Switch between laptop, tablet, display screen and tent modes to enhance your work and play."
Flaunting an polycarbonate shell with metallic finish, the Acer Aspire Switch 10 tablet features a 10.1 inch HD IPS display panel with Acer's very own LumiFlex technology that delivers optimized color control letting the user watch videos and browse photos even under the sun.
Under the hood, Acer Aspire Switch 10 runs Windows 8.1 operating system with its Quad Core 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3745, handles multitasking with 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and has 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via the slate's microSD card slot. The tablet - with dual front-facing loud speakers - is powered by a non-removable 5,700 mAh Li-Po battery pack that - the company says - delivers around 8 hours of uptime with mixed usage. The keyboard dock, on the other hand, also has a metallic look and sports a full-sized USB port where you can connect other devices and accessories.
Earlier this month, Acer Philippines released the Aspire Switch 10 across the country. The 32 GB variant sells for just Php 19,900 while the heavier version with 500 GB SATA drive goes for Php 22,900.

Acer Aspire Switch 10 uses a unique magnetic dock to connect the tablet to the keyboard. The "Switch" name alludes to the fact that the user can place the tablet the other way around - facing the other side, a mode that's perfect when you're giving a Powerpoint presentation.
