Cherry Mobile Flare Dash Price Php 3,699, Complete Specs : Affordable Quad Core Android Smartphone, Upgradable to KitKat
Cherry Mobile is currently promoting this handset on their official Facebook page (by using the collateral below as cover photo), which started conversation about the device on the site and - perhaps - prompted some of you to email me about it.
Actually, I've been hearing about Cherry Mobile Flare Dash for quite sometime now. It's one of the models included in the local electronics company's Fiesta Promo earlier this year. Remember that?
So what's so special about it? Well, looking at the sheer number of SKU's that CM is carrying, I think it's really hard for any of their releases to stand out. I mean, some of them look almost alike and some have largely similar technical specifications.
This one, for instance, is just about the same as the recently unveiled Php 3,299 Cherry Mobile Life 2.0 -- having the same Quad Core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 and Adreno 302 based Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 processor, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, 4GB of ROM expandable via microSD card slot, 0.3 MP (or VGA) front cam, 4-inch WVGA display, and WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA+ connectivity support. The only major difference - apart from the design - is that Flare Dash has 1 GB of RAM (twice that of Life 2.0) for smoother multitasking, has a less powerful 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera (vs. 8 MP on Life 2.0), and is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat -- although I'm not sure how soon CM will be able to send the OTA update.
Anyway, if you're interested to check it out, Cherry Mobile Flare Dash is now available at all Cherry Mobile Kiosks, Concept Stores, and partner retailers nationwide. You get it for only Php 3,699, which could make it the most affordable KitKat smartphone in the Philippines currently -- if Cherry Mobile manages to release the upgrade soon enough.
